I can't immediately see anything abnormal there, but maybe I missed something - let us know what you think might be wrong and we will try to help :)

I see the cracked, pushed out part, shows an old injury at one point. As long as it stays dry and doesn't get larger he should continue healing.

Hi. I am not sure I can tell what I am supposed to be looking for? Cracking paw pads, something about his nails? Can you provide more information?

In the meantime, take a look at these articles to see if it might give you any clues as to what the issue might be.

Hi! I don't know how to edit my original post. But here is a close up of the injury.

Thanks for the new pic. If it were just one area on one paw, it could be from an old injury, as it almost looks as if part of the paw pad was torn/bitten off? Since it is happening to more than one paw, I doubt it is from an injury - very coincidental if so. But, it could also be some form of fungal issue that might be deteriorating the tissue of pad(s). Therefore, I really think you should have the vet look at them. They might even want to take some skin cells from the pads and have them analyzed to determine the cause.

Just in case it might help any, here is a different article than I previously gave you related to cat paw diseases. Maybe it might aide in your discussion with the vet.
