Does Famciclovir Cause This

Hey.The vet prescribed liquid Famciclovir for snowball instead of the pill cause the dose wasnt available in the pill.Well mg wasnt available in pill form.So it had to b compounded.I have givn to him n he seems to smacking his mouth n I reckon trying to get it out n ran around apt for couple seconds n then hes fine.Which vet said cats DO NOT like the taste of Famciclovir.Anyone have any insight on this????Going to call vet also.

It is somewhat normal for cats to smack their lips when they find the taste of something repugnant, or feel a little nauseous - that doesn't sound too unusual for being given any bad tasting medication, but make sure to read any information sheet that came with it (or google for that info) so that you are aware of what to look out for in terms of side effects.

Oh I have googled about side effects.Thats how I knew about cats hating Famciclovir taste.And also the vet told me.I just was looking to see how other peoples cats dealt with it.Thanks
