Just weighed Kumal. He's up to 8lb 4oz. I guess that means he doesn't need to go to the clinic after all and I just didn't realize he's doing ok. 1 lb 4 oz (20 oz total) is not bad for only a month.

Do you have it? I just read about it.
I believe I do. I made an appointment with a dermatologist and expected a comformation email - never got it. So I contacted them and asked them about my appointment and they said I never made one. Which is bizzare because I gave them all my information and spoke with the receptionist for almost 20 minutes. I've been trying to find one that specializes in hairloss but I've had no luck. And when you bring stress into the conversation, in my experience, doctors are quick to write your symptoms off as being from your stress.

I am stuck inside doing mandated online computer training for child care and it's 65 F outside. Buffalo spring! I'm impatient to start fieldwork for my archaeology firm this year and the first decent weekend I have for it I'm stuck inside doing work training for the job that pays the bills. :grumble

You have an archaeology firm? Sounds really interesting. Where will you do your fieldwork?

I work with fiscally struggling rural communities to help address maintenance and repair issues in their cemeteries. There aren't many funding options available for this and cemeteries typically don't get accepted to the National Register of Historic Places, plus the state cemetery division only really has assistance for nonprofit cemeteries. If the cemetery has been turned over to the local municipality there are almost no resources available. Right now I'm just in my home county but it's a popular program.

Sorry I've been AWOL. It's been quite an eventful week. First, John got a promotion!!! He starts as Assistant Manager on April 20.
Then Thursday, my sister called me. I'd agreed to watch my niece while she was having her baby so she was calling to say she thought she was in labor. I figured we'd be there for a while and she was half an hour from the hospital so I swung by McDonald's to get Aedan and Serenity happy meals. Well, baby's grandpa (Jeff) had to drop his younger kids off at a sitter. Again, everyone thought labor would take a while and there would be time. She arrived at the hospital about an hour after she called me. Jeff called just before they got there asking me to come out and get Serenity because DD was in too much pain and couldn't walk so he needed to carry her in. I saw a wheelchair by the door and asked the receptionist if I could borrow it. Ran it out to her and grabbed Serenity. She started signing papers and her water broke. Ran her upstairs and we waited in the waited room for a few minutes so the doctor could check her. Not 5 minutes later, the nurse came out. "Baby's here! It's a girl!"
DD had been having random pains through the day, but nothing major and they weren't regularly spaced. So she didn't think she was in labor. She had that baby a little over an hour after the bad pain started. Little girl - Nevaeh Dawn. 6 lbs 13 oz, 19 1/4 in long.

And then, (this isn't quite as interesting) yesterday, we found out our awful neighbors got evicted and they're working on moving out. I'm super excited. Hopefully the next people who move in are quieter and more pleasant.
All in all, it's been a good week.
But, my nieces' father is on my list. A few months ago, he left my pregnant sister and his daughter to move in with some girl he'd been cheating with. He didn't show up to the hospital at all. This girl made all kinds of threats saying she wanted to go and if he went without her, she'd burn all his things and get him fired and blah blah blah. So my sister agreed to let her come but asked security to escort her off the premises as soon as she arrived. Didn't tell her that was the plan, of course. Then she decided she wasn't going to let the dad come at all. I don't know why he didn't just go anyway - this is his daughter! Then she started a bunch of drama saying the baby couldn't be his because she doesn't look like him (she does) and because DD was only 6 months pregnant. Um, ok. Because babies born 3 months early are almost 7 pounds and don't need to spend time in the NICU at all. :doh2: Needless to say, my sister is hurt and upset but doing her best to put on a brave face. And Jeff, the aforementioned grandpa, is very unhappy with his son. DD has still been living there and he's been buying her anything she wants for herself and the baby, trying to overcompensate for his son. He feels horrible. I was talking to him and he said, "I raised him and this is how he acts?" The whole situation is just a mess. He's taking DD to file for child support on Monday. But, little Nevaeh is perfect and healthy; Serenity is excited about being a big sister; and everyone went home last night.

I think I hate her.:) I was in labor for 16 hours when they rushed me in for an emergency c-section. Had to stay 2 whole days in the hospital. Man she's lucky.

Glad everything worked out and everyone is safe and happy. Congratulations to John.

Yeah, but the poor girl didn't get an epidural or any kind of pain meds and she was struggling to not give birth in the car. She said she was fighting to hold her in. Would have made for a funny story, though! Haha

And just for a point of reference: this is the girls' father. Look at all their noses. That alone is enough to prove it.
