I heard about this.
I would be so afraid that one or two 'slipped through the cracks'.
The other problem is..once a den, always a den. I would be moving.
:yeah:

Saline drops are great! I have chronic dry-eye, so there's a bottle of them in every room of the apartment, plus one in my purse. I've grabbed one more than once when Hekitty's eyes looked a bit inflamed. So far, that's all that's been necessary!
I buy saline nasal spray (the two brand names that spring to mind are Ocean and Ayr) and put it in repurposed antihistamine spray bottles - the kind that produce a really fine spray. I don't use antihistamines because they can have a nasty rebound effect that can make them addictive, but that really fine saline spray is an extremely good way to get some humidity when my nose is feeling irritated because of the dry climate in Colorado.

Thank You. I thought I was seeing things. All the news said is "Looks like it's a cold morning in NYC". Nothing about a plane. I thought maybe they converted an old plane into a bus.
Actually, that would be a cool idea.
Yes, it would.

Haha, Aedan has a ride on pony. The bottom has two modes - rocking horse or ride on toy. I took him outside with it and I was trying to switch it to ride on mode. I couldn't figure it out. Spent 20 minutes fiddling with it then the neighbor helped and it was really easy; I was just missing it. Anyway, after all that, he didn't even want to play with it. Then the neighbor's daughter rode on it for a few minutes and suddenly, he wanted it. Kids! LOL. I didn't let him take it away from her but as soon as she had to go inside, he was all over it - for about 5 minutes.
Sounds normal to me.

I didn't make it into the vet tech program. . . :ohwell: Not sure where to go from here. *deep sigh*
Ah, Sweetie, that's the pits! Are there other programs at other schools you could try? Different schools have different criteria for entry, and what is desirable at one is not at another. Odd, but there it is.
:yeah:
:grouphug:

Was this an online vet tech program? If it wasn't, try an online one. The AVMA lists these: https://www.avma.org/ProfessionalDe...Programs/Pages/vettech_distance_learning.aspx
:yeah: Those both sound like good ideas.

I can retake it. . . 12 months from now. So March 2020.
If that's the way you want to go, maybe I can help you work on your math skills in the meantime. It sounds to me like you were tripped up by some "word questions," the bane of every math student, but actually fairly easy to deal with once you learn a few tricks.

I got a text from my sister-in-law a few days ago, with this link: Solar storm heading to Earth may bring Northern Lights far south. Here's how to see the auroras.. I've only been wanting to see the aurora since forever; looks like I'll be driving out northeast of Denver either Saturday or Sunday night (or both), in the direction of Kansas, looking for clear skies in the north with no light pollution. Keep your fingers crossed for me...

I don't wish to be a killjoy, but I think that was this last weekend :(.

I looked for it. . .nothing visible. It was cloudy one night. I might not have been out late enough though (around midnight). I think the best time is 2 am. I've seen the aurora a few times but it was very limited, looked like a green shape-shifting cloud . While that was nice, I'd like to see a really impressive display, with different colors and all.

Hmm. You could be right; I'll have to check on that. Unfortunately, it wasn't until this week that she sent me the link.

There have been news reports that the aurora might be visible this far south in the past, and I've attempted to see it, but it's never worked. One of these years I'm just going to have to visit Alaska in the winter.

I would love to see that. It would be amazing to have a telescope. On a clear night I can see so many stars just standing on my deck. The moon last week was incredible.

I don't think a telescope is very useful for viewing the aurora. You use that for distant things that need to be enlarged, but the northern (or southern) lights are more like great sheets of color in the sky - I think a telescope would ruin the effect. My extremely good binoculars, however, are so good that I actually saw Halley's Comet the last time it came around, which was a major accomplishment.

Wowza, wasn't that the late 70s? I bet it was an amazing sight.

I've only seen the aurora once. My parents took us to the drive-in for our annual movie- it was 'The Absent-minded Professor'- and they were clearly visible. When the Hale-Bopp comet came past back in the 90s, I was able to get pictures of it, but clouds obscured Halley's, so I missed that one.

I remember, sadly, an odd cult that believed they would be taken on a spaceship or something that night and they killed themselves.

It's my puppy's birthday today! He's had an incredible day playing with his friends at work, chewing on a raw bone, and snuggling with me on the couch.
OH MY GOD. . . Is this the same dog? I remember someone posting about a new puppy looking just like this one a while back. Is this the same dog?? GOT TO BIG! MY MY!

Actually, that took place practically in my back yard. They all wore white cowboy hats and white sneakers, and they thought the 'space ship' would land on the shore of Lake Ontario. They didn't kill themselves, though, just disbanded and went back to , I believe, Korea.

Do you mean Heavens Gate? They thought an alien spacecraft was riding the waves of Hale-Bopp and the only way to get on the ship was 'out of body'.

Has anyone ever used PayBright or financial assistance like that to help with vet bills? You all are talking about teeth cleaning and I need to have that done for Felix too and they quoted me around $1,100.
I had Care Credit when Panthera needed surgery. It's a credit card for medical emergencies. For 12 or so months there is no interest charge but once you go over that , even if you have barely any balance left, they hit you with the interest of the whole loan so it behooves you to pay it all off before the time limit expires. It can be a life saver.
