A gardein veggie burger (no bun because was too lazy to look for them and just hungry and wanted to cook it ASAP...these take forever to cook and are greasy microwaved but are tasty so the cook time on the stove is worth it.) and salt and vinegar Pringles.

Today was an outing with friends to the Philadelphia Flower Show. We brown bag it (not that anyone had any actual brown bags.) I used a wonderful bento box my son and d-i-l gifted me with. Knowing the outing was coming up I made extra for dinner last night, roasted beets in the toaster oven after dinner. And assembled everything very early this morning.

Pieces of roasted beet and clementine sections

Shrimp, hard cooked egg, and asparagus

Pretty to look at, tasty to eat.

We were in town running errands so stopped at the Chinese restaurant for take-out. It's a favorite go-to place because Monday through Saturday they have a lunch special from 11:00 a.m. to 3:00 p.m. Your choice of 33 different entrees with either white rice or pork fried rice and your choice of wonton soup, egg drop soup, or hot and sour soup. And the luncheon special is only $6.95.

With so many options you'd think we'd be working our way through the menu. Nope. Creatures of habit. We both get pork fried rice. Himself always gets wonton soup, shrimp with lobster sauce. I get hot and sour soup, General Tsao's chicken.

We indulge, and get an eggroll each. Which means there's enough entree and rice for tomorrow's lunch. Plus, tonight's dinner will be something light.

I love spicy ham. What kind do you get? Is it this? Bold Peppenero® Garlic Ham | Boar's Head

That's my go to. It's excellent but everything Boar's Head makes is. The girls love their low sodium chicken and turkey breast and refuse any other brand. Divas. :rolleyes2:

i didn't keep track of the brand of the hot ham. i bought a roll of it at the local produce auction. i really like it a lot. :D

our DeeDee was circling the kitchen, looking very much like she wanted to get at the hot ham as i was slicing it. :dancingblackcat: i really have to keep an eye on her, because she loves ham and smelling it (especially a smallish pile of it, like i'd sliced yesterday) drives her to try to get it. i can't turn my back for a minute, or she'll be into it. i tried to explain to my girl, that it's spicy and would not be a happy thing going through her gastro system. :nono:
