I don't know if this can help or not. I don't mean it to be rude, but having been at the end of my rope, I discovered that pawn shops take all kinds of things you wouldn't expect. Electronics do well, but I've seen some that take clothes and things that don't really work any more. You won't get much for that sort of thing, but every little bit help. Note: most do not take books.

I am so very, very sorry for all you are going through. I am wondering (and this will not make him better, or give you money), if his biting is pain-related? I had a kitty (Spike) who suddenly began to bite and was THE sweetest, most loving cat, ever. I had him tested and tested at the Vet's and finally, they decided he had a brain tumor and was in pain. They cannot articulate why they feel so awful and sometimes, the vet said, they will bite out of feeling so much pain and frustration. Made sense to me, but it is awful, I know....
Can you keep him in a separate room from your other cats for the time-being? That might help ease some of your problems with him. He might feel like the "Weak Link" and is letting the other cats know, not to "mess" with him! I really hope a local vet (or another one in that vet practice you are currently seeing) will step up to help you and guide you. My thoughts are so very much with you and again, am so sorry....

Missy&spikesmom maybe onto something there. Sweet Gum was a kitten who bit us a lot, a lot more than normal. It turned out she had arthritis even though she wasn't a year old. We got her dasuquin from Chewy.com no Rx, not expensive. After a week of taking the pills she was better. That was when she started to respond to direction, like when she bit and I hissed at her, she quit biting. I'm not saying this is what your boy has, just that pain can make a cat pretty aggressive.

Javannalynn, I know it has been awhile since you posted and I hope that you have found a way to help Marbles. I just wanted to let you know that I have been thinking of both of you and know you are doing the very best you can. Sometimes we don't have the ability to provide the perfect remedy, but that do not mean we aren't doing our very best, and being compassionate. Sending hugs and good thoughts to you and Marbles.

Any advise to help save poor Marbles would be greatly appreciated!
We used to have a dog. One evening I noticed her shaking her head, looked up the behavior, & found out it was indicative of an inner ear infection. I got some Virgin Coconut Oil from the cupboard, softened it, and put it in her ear . . . holding that ear up so it would slide down into the ear. She went back to bed. The next morning, no more head shaking . . . ever. . . .

Check out this article by Dr. Karen Becker, DVM, about Coconut oil for pets:
Is Coconut Oil Good for Dogs and Cats?

This is a video made by a cat owner whose vet approves her cleaning her cat's ears with Coconut oil. She demonstrates how she does it, and also mentions that Coconut oil is a natural antibiotic:

"How to Clean Cat Ears Using Coconut Oil"
I would try to get some coconut oil to go into Marble's ear maybe 2-3 times a day, if necessary. If it can get past the puss, it can go to work. . . . *Will* the puss to come out . . . sounds crazy, but we often have the ability to direct things like this, if we are calm, well rested & hydrated, and concentrating on what we want to occur & why.

It's a shame that the shelter can't help you. I think you should try Gofundme and continue looking for charity hospitals. Sending you and sweet kitty prayers and kisses. X x

He's currently on another round of antibiotics and the infection has cleared. He still has a lot of brown gunk coming out but it is not green infection. I can clean his ears every morning for the rest of his life if I have to. Its not a problem. I just can't let him suffer with an infection. I have been calling the shelter daily and getting no response. I called again today and finally someone returned my call. We spoke a bit and they are requesting his records from my vet. So I am waiting for my vet to call with copies of his records because they can't email them. As so as i hear from them I'm going to scan them and send them to the shelter. It will be nice because i will also have a copy of the records. I know its been a while since i updated but I wasn't getting anywhere. At least he is not currently suffering.

Having him now for 2 months I know the biting is something more. We have found some BBs under his skin. So I'm thinking it is pain and fear at the same time. but if I slip up and touch his belly he is out to rip off my hand. He has already improved since we had him. Like i said before though the biting is not really an issue with us. We are more worried about informing the shelter if we do take him back. I'm sure with his medical issue and biting issue he would be euthanized. I'm willing to work with the biting issue and we have already talked about getting him a full body xray at some point to see if it is arthritis. but there are just more important things right now.

Depending on where the BBs are the pain may subside with time. One of mine had about 15BBs in him and didn't seem to notice. A couple were close to the bone. Perhaps he just got 'used' to the way they felt, but he didn't appear to notice. I'm just letting you know that in this one case, this happened. It bothered me not to get them removed but the vet didn't want to do it. Apparently, if they aren't made of lead, and most BBs aren't, the placement of most are okay.

All right, he's crossed over at about 17, but it still bothers me. He eventually developed seizures and in time they began training, so I had to let him go. The vet thought his being hit by a car years before I got him might have caused the seizures. The seizures started the day after I used Fabreeze for the first time, I've been assured that couldn't have caused them. So I often wonder if the BBs had something to do with that.

I meant for this post to be more hopeful. I'm sorry.

Oh, I'm so happy to hear that he is doing better and not suffering. Javannalyn, you are a wonderful person to help Marbles. He is a beautiful cat and I hope you can get to the bottom of his issues and resolve them. Many hugs for you and Marbles.

javannalynn javannalynn He looks WONDERFUL and it's so heartening to read your post. *PRAYERS* and continuing thoughts of wellbeing for him and I also pray you will keep him.
K Kflowers My heartfelt condolences for your loss of your beloved little man.
I won't even start on how I feel about the matter of bb's. I'm sure everyone on TCS would be in agreement with me, to some degree.
Mamanyt1953 Mamanyt1953 Has an excellent suggestion and I hope you will be able to follow up on that.

Ailish had an infection, not nearly as serious as yours. She was given an injection of Convenia which helped it and it was almost gone by the end of the two weeks. I was told that it might take two rounds, but I figured I was home free. Nope. Came back in full. Took her back and again after the first round she was almost clear, but I went back to get that second round. Went away and has never shown its face again.
