I understand there is no definitive answer to the question "what breed is my cat?" without paperwork and proof of pedigree. Nonetheless, what breed do these two kittens resemble to you folks who are experienced with cats? These two are brother and sister which I adopted recently. They are 3 1/2 months old.

Second question: these two chase each other consrantly, wrestle, bite each other, it goes back and forth constantly. A couple of times I heard a small hiss. They both whine and meow when the other has them pinned down and is biting. Nonetheless, they reciprocate. Although, when it is over, they do snuggle and groom each other and sleep together every night. My question is, should I stop the fighting or just let them sort it out? Up to now, I have just let them do their thing. I figured I would ask this question here too instead of opening two threads. Thank you all!

That's absolutely playing. Don't break them up -- it's an important part of their development.

They're both super cute tabby domestic shorthairs. I don't see a resemblance to any particular breed (even just for fun), but maybe others see something I don't. As for coloring, others are better at describing that than me!

What gorgeous kitties! I would describe your girl as a brown broken mackeral tabby Domestic Shorthair, and your boy as a silver spotted tabby Domestic Shorthair.

Regarding the fighting, them being siblings, and so young, I think it is probably play. This video shows what play fighting looks like:

Here's one of my kittens when they were about the age of yours. I don't think Athena hisses in this one, but she often does even now. It's just a warning that Ares is getting too rough.

This is very similar to what mine are doing. Maybe a bit more rough, but since they are snuggling and grooming during down time I feel okay about them. Thank you so much!

On a sad note, this afternoon I was in the kitchen preparing a bowl of royal canin wet kitten food for my kitties. They always follow me in there and whine when they know food is coming. I stepped back to place the bowl on the floor and accidentally stepped on Sweetie's tail. She screamed and of course clawed my leg (I could care less about my leg at this point), then she ran away under a table. It hurt my heart to hear her in pain. She came out from hiding and I held her and checked her tail. Nothing seems swollen or broken, but I wonder if I should take her to the vet? She continued to eat dinner and then napped on my shoulder. I gave her a lot of hugs and kisses to tell her sorry. :( Definitely will walk more carefully as they like to get under your feet.

Don't beat yourself up too much. That can happen. Just be careful like you said. Give her some extra treats and love and she will be her happy self again.
