Its spring (well here at least), he probably smells an animal such as another cat, fox or coyote. You can keep an eye out, but Occam's Razor says he smells an animal. Cats don't think "Oh this catio is so secure, I can just chill even though I smell that another cat peed on the lawn" -- they act just like your cat is doing.

Hang in there!
Try some chamomile tea with honey, and try some music for the cats - there's an app called Relax My Cat, and there's MusicForCats . com.

I think it was a small teddy bear that was right where he was sleeping yesterday on moms bed..

I swear I remember him freaking out over that bear years ago..I showed him the bear while hes outside sleeping in his stroller right now and he didnt react..

I also put him on my shoulders and took him around my yard smelling trees and hes purring and kneading my back..

His hissing just gave me flashbacks of the dreaded urinary probs he once had, he ruined my mcdonalds meal as I completly lost my appetite

Still might have smelled, seen or heard an animal, perhaps through a window. Or thought he did. Cats have incredible senses...and great imaginations as well. We have heard from many posters with problems with cats merely seeing other cats from a window.

I doubt the teddy bear would send him through the house and into the catio. I have a cat who hisses at household things with faces if they are moved or new (like cat-sized statues) It probably was something from outside or some sort of pain he had. How old is he? Since he ran to the catio with lowered limbs I'd assume he smelled or heard an animal out there (most likely an intact cat). If he is continually distressed by this you could get some motion activated water sprinklers for your lawn. Is your cat neutered?

My boy is blocked up and im having anxiety

I put him back on urinary so and gave him 2ml uromaxx, i was preaching uromaxx to everyone and now im punished

5 this morning i heard him hiss and I woke up and he went into my closet. I quickly check my security cam 10 min prior and see him in the litterbox. I check the litterbox and nothing in it, so I let him eat royal canin urinary so like a pig and give him 2ml uromaxx..

He went back to the box and I prayed to Jesus and my dad to let him pee. Pee he did and dookies..

I hope he gets better back on the urinary so, I wonder if being on the blue buffalo for a month screwed him over, I guess it did!

I can't say for sure if the Blue Buffalo caused the issue, but I can share my own experience with it. I switched my boy to Blue Buffalo for a month or two a few years back, and he developed crystals and a blockage. Ended up having to do emergency vet care.

He went onto the Hills c/d diet for a while after that. He's been on a few other foods since then, and has not had a recurrence in years (knock on wood). I don't wanna say the Blue Buffalo did it, but I'm always gonna think the Blue Buffalo did it.

It might also be that he heard a weird noise. My boy freaked out from hearing a leaf blower outside my patio ...... with my sliding glass door closed! He was fine within an hour after the Gardner left.

How long did it take your ‘ding dong’ to recover? Also, can I see a pic of him without netting in front of him ..... I just want to see a cute cat photo ;)

My cat hisses at me when she doesn't like what I'm doing to her.
I just hiss back at her.
She backs down fast.
