Northern Lower Michigan.. Fancy Feast is currently 79 cents a can, Friskies is 69 cents. Ridiculous!
79 cents a can? Is that a typo? Holy smokes.

I live in BFE Kentucky and it went from $0.54 to $0.66. And has anyone else noticed that the food/gravy (FF) doesn't come close to the top anymore? I checked the oz on the can, and they haven't changed it.

I do not feed either foods. I work at petco and petco will soon stop carrying the brands. That’s what I mean by “phasing out” so it won’t matter soon anyway what the price is.
I don't see how they are phasing out FF? In the post and photo above by mizzelly with the ingredients list, I don't see any additives listed that Petco listed in their news brief.

"Some of the more than 40 artificial ingredients Petco is eliminating include FD&C Red No. 3, Butylated hydroxyanisole (BHA), Butylated hytroxytoluene BHT), Glycerol tributyrate and benzaldehyde."

Petco to Stop Selling Food With Artificial Coloring, Flavors and Preservatives

If you have more information, I would like to know. Thanks. :)

All of fancy feast and friskies is going. Except the new fancy feast naturals. Fancy feast contains artificial flavors which is a part of Petco’s no no list now. And friskies contains artificial colors and flavors.

Most of the fancy feast do have artificial flavors. If you look on the petco website they do say on the page that they will be discontinuing them

Maybe they will finally take out the artificial flavors now. I don't see why they put that in there anyway, might as well use natural.

Artificial flavors don't bother me too much at point. The BHA and BPA would be concerning. Most human food has artificial flavor and coloring.

I try to avoid artificial flavor and coloring. Holiday cookies? Never! The bright and unnatural colors are a turn off. I'll go for the plain sugar cookies or something instead.

Unless you made the cookies yourself, I can guarantee the store used artificial vanilla ;)

Oh is the vanilla in those little bottles artificial? Lol. I actually have no clue where vanilla comes from now that I think about it. We can't completely escape it I suppose. I try to do what I can though by looking at colors and reading ingredients. Cooking at home more often does help.

lol, depends. There is "imitation vanilla" and "pure vanilla extract". Pure VE is made by soaking vanilla beans in vodka. The imitation is made in a lab. You are right, it is hard to escape. I put out a garden and try to buy meat locally when I can. But my weakness is white cake with buttercream frosting (full of dyes!) :)

A big part of the issue is we have no idea what the artificial flavors are in pet foods. You could call or email Purina and they will give u the run around as to exactly what it is. Same with the meat by products. I have never been able to get anyone from Purina to tell me much of anything about the nondescript ingredients tbh.
And so much is still allowed in pet food that is illegal in human food because the dyes and whatnot have been found to be cancerous in humans. It’s one thing if Purina isn’t using those chemicals but they can’t even tell u what they use so. Nope lol. Not for me.

Hi, fellow cat lovers! I used to buy all my FF at Petco and would have them price match Walmart's price of 54 cents. I did this to get Petco points! I have 1 diabetic, 20+ year old sweet girl. I would usually buy between 70-100 cans at a time since I don't leave my house much due to a disability. I'm anal so she gets FF seafood for dinner and FF chicken, beef, liver, or turkey for breakfast.
Petco recently became a nightmare getting them to price match, but my area is currently still selling FF even though they told me last December that they were going to discontinue it. I'm not sure when they're going to pull them off the shelves.
About four weeks ago, I purchased 80 FF cans from Walmart's grocery pick-up, where they were 54 cents each. I tried placing an order last night for another grocery pick-up for this coming week and noticed the price had increased to 64 cents in just 4 weeks! I looked at Kroger prices and saw they had increased to 70 cents (from 60 cents). Sheesh!!
I'm in Thompsons Station, TN, just south of Nashville by the way. A 10 and 11 cent increase is a lot! :( Bless you people with multiple meowers!!

I bought a multipack last week of FF and was pleasantly surprised it was the same price. Then I got home and realized it was now a 24 pack not 30.

I checked it out with Purina and the reason that CANNED cat food is increasing is because of the tariffs on imported aluminum and steel. The prices on canned soda have also doubled in my area and I am told that they will continue to climb.
I have been looking for a substitute as I donate quite a bit to a rescue and I am now spending about 25% more per week. Friskies and Fancy Feast is what they feed. It increased from $13.50 for 30 last year to now, today, $18.77 for the same box of Fancy Feast.
