Our poor Ace cat was diagnosed this week with lymphoma (probably started in his digestive system, but is now in his lymph nodes).

We have met with an oncologist and have a chemo schedule in place. I've been reading lots from various websites (including this forum and others).

I'm just wondering if anyone here has any advice as far as, "When my cat was diagnosed with lymphoma, I wish I had..."

Hi. Sorry about your baby Ace. And, I am sorry no one has responded to you yet. I am sure there will be members who will come along soon and offer their first hand input. In the meantime, if you would like to look through some of the threads about lymphoma on this site, you can start here:

I am so sorry, and I wish you the best of luck. I am bumping your question up, so that more folks see it. I don't have any experience with lymphoma, but I can tell you that with any serious illness, it is (in my opinion) best to get a second vet opinion, see a vet specialist, be pro-active with the treatment plan and care, and do your own research (which you are already doing).

I'm sorry to hear about Ace. My kitty likely has either IBD or intestinal lymphoma (unfortunately the endoscopy/biopsy was too much to have done). She just started prednisolone a week ago. I will be interested in hearing other's replies as well.

Thanks for the replies, everyone. And WinniesMomma, I'll be tracking your posts, too. Ace was diagnosed with presumptive IBD last summer (he had been throwing up frequently and it was only eventually controlled by prednisone every other day, though we did also change his diet).

Just as a follow-up -- Ace is doing well. He hates going to the vet for his once-a-week treatments, but he is handling the chemo well and it is decreasing his lymph node enlargement (so it is "working" as well as we could hope). Here's hoping for symptom relief/remission as long as possible.
