I keep hearing about the magic of KFC. What kind do I buy? Crispy? Orig, Barbq?

For cats or for humans? I personally wouldn't give a cat any of it because of all the herbs, spices and sodium. I give my cats plain cooked chicken and they like it.

For a human? I'd drive past KFC and get some Popeye's spicy. :agree:

Some people use it for TNR during the trapping phase. Cats find it irresistible. I have never used it during my trapping. I would never use it to feed my cat or even offer as a treat. It's just for trapping difficult cats.

The original, some tnr folks remove the skin but some don't, for trapping purposes :)

I would say original. Or just whatever you like, because you'll get to eat the rest of it, lol. And I'd remove the bones in case they manage to eat the whole thing.

Rotisserie chicken works well too. That's what I've had the most success with, although admittedly I haven't tried KFC myself.

Okay thanks was thinking of using as a treat to get Shyboy to like me but sounds like you guys are saying not for that.

I would not use it as a treat to entice petting or socialization. Instead I would use plain cooked chicken, small bits of tuna or salmon from a can, baby food or some stinky dehydrated cat treats.

Baby food does not entice Shyboy for some reason. He does at times like the fancy feast chicken pieces that sell for a dollar a piece so will stick with those. Thanks! Also is there a limit as to how much rescue remedy I can give him in a day? The box says as needed 4 drops but want to make sure.

When I used Rescue Remedy I would use it many times each day. I would place it in water bowl, wet food and even place on my hands to rub on the kitty. You can also just drop it directly onto his skin.

I did find that Composure liquid Max or Zylkene worked much much better for feral/semi feral cats. The liquid Composure Max can be mixed into wet food 2x a day. The zylkene can also be used 2x a day to start and then whittled down. Both can be pricey, but I find they work better. Also Jackson Galaxy's flower essences are fantastic. I used their Feral formula for years. As well as Stress stopper, and many others.

When I bring home Popeye's chicken, my cats have a fit. I take the skin off a piece of chicken, and give them each a finger long sliver of the meat. And that seems to satisfy them. Same thing happens when I grill pork chops, or bring home bbq pork ribs. They want a bite. So that get a small piece, no bbq sauce.

Rotisserie chicken works great - I don't do it very often but sometimes I get one and peal off most off the skin and the edge wingy things and pass them out (no serious bones) - cats go WILD - they love it
