S skipscales -- catsknowme catsknowme brings up something else that hadn't occurred to me -- CH (Cerebellar Hypoplasia). That is also good information to discuss with Dillon's vet.
You may be familiar with Lil BUB of internet fame? She has several physical conditions which require a high level of care, and her caregivers have reported great success in improving and maintaining her health with THIS:

Assisi Animal Health :: For Pet Owners

It is expensive. But it may be another avenue to investigate.

Sorry not to respond before to all your kind thoughts & advice.
Dillon has laid flat on his right side & barely moved for the past 24 hours.
He is still in pain, altho not crying out so long as he stays still.
I THINK (not 100% sure) THAT HE CANNOT MOVE HIS FRONT LEGS EITHER NOW. I only noticed this today around 6pm when I tried to take him to the litter tray. I can't get a 'pull-back' response from either front leg (as well as the back ones)
I held him up as gently as I could in a towel & my husband held a saucer of finely chopped chicken & water under his nose. He DID EAT most of it. I included a few linseeds as these not only have nutrients but are very good for keeping the bowels moving.

But he looks horribly like a cat that is dying :headshake:

I'll answer some of your queries & comments below.
Have you managed to get the meds for the toxoplasmosis into poor Dillon?
We don't know that he has toxoplasmosis. That was a guess by one of the vets. I think he's beyond being taken into any vets at the moment, so it's home nursing & natural remedies only, apart from the Metacam & the AB eye drops.
I read the article about limping syndrome. It 'sort of' fits Dillon, but there is nothing in there about actual paralysis & it says the symptoms disappear after 72 hours. I have it down as one of the 'possibles' to mention to the vet.

They are called "audiogenic" seizures.
I find that very interesting - not respecting Dillon, but it goes to show that an owners observations can be more informed than the vets book learning sometimes!
I feel we are somewhat at the mercy of vets as most of us don't have the knowledge. But there are good vets & not-so-good ones, & frankly poor ones.

I wonder if it's AIHA
Thankyou I've never heard of that. I will add it to the list I'm taking to the vets.
I would have him tested for FeLV and FIV
I'm not sure I could take him to the vets at the moment. He almost seems to be in a deep sleep. He will wake up to feed if I raise his head, but otherwise lays completely still.

Cerebellar Hypoplasia
I will add that one to the list too! Thanks.

I feel that your detailed advice needs a longer response but I feel so tired & unwell tonight that it will have to wait. Sorry. I don't have good health myself & all this stress is taking a toll.

I'm new on this site & don't know how to copy people in, but thankyou for all your good wishes to

I am joining my prayers and vibes to all the other well wishes for Dillon and for you :vibes::vibes::vibes::vibes::vibes:

Adding gentle comfort grooming with a toothbrush or soft rubber or plastic comb might give him extra psychological support. Whatever is bothering him, he may welcome the loving attention as a distraction. Rubbing his paws in light, slow circles, too. In addition to mental comfort, this helps to keep his lymph flowing.
I am keeping you yourself in my thoughts and prayers as well. :alright: :vibes::vibes::vibes::vibes:

Feline Calicivirus has almost every symptom Dillon has, starting with a 'cold' and progressing to lameness, pain, loss of appetite and ulcers. You might have him tested. Steroids or antiiinflammatory meds are indicated. Perhaps Dillion had a very serious bout with this, much worse than normal? And the vaccinations increased the seriousness? In any event maybe try more steroids, I have had miraculous results with these. I'll pray for your little boy, he has suffered enough, sending heling vibes his way! :vibes::vibes::vibes::vibes::vibes::vibes::vibes:

This sounds like a good plan to me also.

Steroids sometimes can trigger off other problems, such as diabetes (speaking from experience on this one), however, that is extremely manageable and worth the risk IMHO.

Plus, many cats will go into remission from diabetes on their own - they are the only species that does this - so again, worth the risk to try.

Hoping Dillon is feeling a bit more energetic by the time S skipscales is able to post today :vibes::vibes::vibes::hugs:

Sorry to say that Dillon died at around 8am today. We did everything we could but nothing seemed to help. He dies in my arms. I wanted to write a longer email but I feel so broken up that it will have to wait. Been crying all afternoon. We've buried him between Poppy & Willy (so that he won't be lonely - stupid, I know) & planted snowdrops over him.

Oh no. I am so, so sorry.

Please use the Crossing the Bridge section to write about Dillon (and provide any pics that you like) - when you are ready. This section is to pay homage to our lost loved ones - and Dillon - and you - deserve that homage. RIP Dillon, enjoy your new home with Poppy & Willy. Dillon has new friends now, ones he knows were yours as well.

oh NOOOOO....Dillon went knowing the comfort and joys, spending his last moments in your arms. His little body said "this far & no farther". As he returns to the ancestors and those yet to be born, we here remain your devoted TCS family, willing to share the sorrows with you - please let us know whether in forums or via Private Message how we can help. Many of us keep odd hours (family caregivers, cat & kitten rescuers) so you can reach out anytime, 24/7. :alright: :grouphug2:
Godspeed and tailwinds west, little Dillon. Please send a sign that you are okay & your spirit is now part of something bigger - perhaps a sunset, sunrise, a rainbow cloud...:vibes::vibes:

Dillon chose to spend his short life surrounded by your love, surrounding you with his, and making the eternal connection to you. This is the greatest of blessings and the deepest of griefs. I'm so sorry his time was so brief, but know he is forever with you.

I'm so very sorry, how utterly heartbreaking.
I do hope you take comfort in knowing that you truly did everything possible for this little one. Way beyond what most would have done and Dillon surely felt your love every moment he spent with you. I'm really glad that I saw your Flickr postings and was able to guide you here so that you had more support during his final days.
Know we are all here for you to help you through your loss and grief. :hugs:
I'll request this thread be closed shortly, out of respect of Dillon's passing.

Im so very sorry. As said, you did everything you could for Dillon. Most importantly, he knew he was loved & cared for in the short time he was with you. He will always remember that. Its not easy, but sometimes I think such kitties come into our lives for that reason. I only had my last one for a couple of years, & as much as it hurt to lose her in such a short time, I'd like to think it was for a reason. To be loved so greatly, cared for, and spoiled in her last two years, never knowing they were to be her last.
Perhaps that was Dillons destiny as well.
I hope in time you can feel comfort in knowing that because of you, he knew he was loved.

R.I.P. sweet boy. :rbheart: no more pain, fly free.

I'm so sorry to hear this S skipscales It's heartbreaking to lose a cat at anytime, but some how it's much worse to lose one while they are still so young.

We always lock the threads when a cat or kitten has passed, so I'll lock this one now.

If you would like to start a thread in Dillon's memory please do so in our Crossing the Bridge forum.

Rest In Peace Dillon.
