Sometimes if it's a spammer, they get deleted before you see the PM, but the notification email still exists.

Thanks. Looks like it's someone trying to steal my account. But I don't get it - how would stealing an account on a cat site be beneficial? I love this site, but it wouldn't be particularly advantageous to steal an account. It's not like there's any money in it.

Not trying to steal your account on the cat site. Trying to steal your email account. From there, a person with knowledge, can steal other info. Like your credit card number if you have ever used it to pay your internet bill. Or, any other emails that you may have that has a card linked to it.
According to a site I go to Buzz Aldrin is still alive.

Well here he is. Cat #4 or maybe. I am currently considering him a foster cat . . . but he's growing on me.
His name (if he's ours) is Oswald (nicknames, Oz, Ozzy, OzzieWassie). (for anyone keeping track of the Discworld theme, Oswald is the ghost in Hat full of sky who keeps the witches house obsessively clean).

Sorry I haven't been around as much as usual lately; I've been trying to catch up on a few things around here, and engaging in some political activism.
So, I'm catching up on posts from last month now...

So, I'm catching up on posts from last month now...
We used to live in a duplex that had been created from a single house by the expedient of adding a new front door and locking an interior door. The locked interior door was in our bedroom, and on the other side it was at the back of a closet. The neighbors had put a small table in the closet with a record player on it (yep! genuine vinyl!) and, when they weren't screaming at each other and threatening to shoot one another they'd play a single of Fats Domino singing "Blueberry Hill." They'd set the record player to lift the needle and put it back at the beginning, so it could repeat for hours on end, with the door into our bedroom acting as a sound box to amplify it. Then they'd leave the house, and leave the record player running! I got to the place where I absolutely hated "Blueberry Hill," but Roger figured out a solution - it turned out the fuse box for the whole house was on our side, so any time they left the house with the record player running Roger would just remove the fuse that controlled that circuit. Did nothing about the loud arguments, however.

Why am I not surprised?I made the President's List again
I once saw it snow in Glendale California (in Southern California) on a clear, warm day in August! It only happened for a few minutes, and the snow melted and evaporated in mid-air, but it did happen.
As long as I'm inside in the warm, I also love weather. Except high winds; those get on my nerves horribly, something to do with ions, I think. And when I had arthritis high winds would always make my knees ache, I think because they tend to go along with changes in the barometric pressure.
We have a fantastic neighbor who comes over and clears our driveway and walk with his snow blower whenever the snow is too bad. He's the neighborhood guardian angel. If I didn't think it would embarrass him horribly I'd be talking about him to one of the local television stations that has an "Every Day Hero" segment.
