Hi everyone,

I posted about 3 weeks ago asking about feeding my kitten with my older cat. I had noticed that the kitten (Gunnar) just wasn’t eating like he should and I noticed that he looked like he had lost weight. I immediately took him to my vet that Monday morning and sure enough, he did blood work and it appeared that his bone marrow had stopped making red blood cells, the poor baby had almost no blood. My trusted vet of 22 years just sat on the floor with me as I cried and held that precious little creature in my arms. I had just lost my 10 year old Rottweiler two weeks before and here I was losing my kitten that I had just gotten 2 weeks earlier. The vet assured me that it was best and Gunnar crossed the rainbow bridge. I never knew my heart could hurt so much after just two short weeks. He was a special little boy and will always be in my heart. Yesterday I adopted again so we’ll see how this goes.

Rest peacefully sweet Gunnar

Thanks for listening.

I am truly sorry for the loss of your dog, and cat, Rhonda. That's a lot of heartache to have to go through. I do feel your pain, as I am going through it myself. I lost my precious cat, Lady G. a little over a month ago. The pain I feel now, is as strong as it was the day I lost her. But time will help ease our pain a little, so you hang in there.

Wishing you all the best with the new cat, and comfort in the days ahead.

I hope you can take comfort in that it was meant to be that Gunnar and you were together. He needed someone to be strong for him, to love and care for him even though the time was so short and the parting so difficult. He knew love and had a home with a family, and for him that was all he ever wanted. You gave him the greatest gift he could ever recieve, your love and the strength to take away his suffering.
Let his gift of love continue through sharing it with that new little one. It could not have made him any happier than to know you will let him continue to enjoy the joys found in life by living on through you now and sharing your love, and his, with another who so desperately needs it. He would be the last one to want you sad, because he loves you. Love is spiritual, so eternal, and the love you shared will always be a part of your heart and soul.
He will be forever as close as your thoughts and prayers, so send him those of happiness and joy so he can continue to live on through you. Try not to dwell on his end, it brings nothing but heartache and changes nothing. Go on with the rest of your life's journey in happiness, just as you would want for him if you were the first to go. He is safe and at peace because he was loved. Cherish the memories you have of him, I know he will never be forgotten and will be forever held in a loving heart. Take care of those two babies and yourself, give them a kiss for me.....
RIP dear Gunnar. Although your time on this earth was short, you left a big mark on a heart that will always love you. You will be dearly missed but forever remembered with love. May the good Lord bless and keep you, until you meet again!

I'm so sorry you had to go through such a heart-crushing pain twice in such a short time!
Gunnar had a short life, but he left a lot behind, because I'm sure you will never forget how dear he was, and I'm sure he loved you to bits.
He was so handsome, and now his eyes will shine in the night like two new stars in the sky.

RIP Gunnar.

Ret you gentle, sweet baby Gunnar, dream you deep. Your tiny pawprints are on your mama's heart forever.

So very young, and so soon after another loss! But where there is love, eternity would not be enough, would it? Gunnar was so loved, and I know he returned that love full measure. Love does not die, you know. It only changes form and continues on, still Love. And Love abides. Always, forever, Love abides. Gunnar is with you still, gamboling unseen at the feet of a mighty dog, offering his heart to you, as he did in life.

I'm so sorry for the loss of your dog and kitten! I agree, you gave him love and a home. You made it so he didn't die alone.
I hope your new kitten brings you joy and helps dry your tears. I tell my kitten how much I miss his step dad, who loved on him as a wee baby. Having a kitten after such a loss is bittersweet. Like someone said, I doubt our cats would want us to sad or begrudge us happiness.

I am so sorry for your losses, that is an awful lot to have to deal with in a short time! I am sorry Gunnar had to leave so soon, perhaps there is a reason for it that is not obvious to us now, but it is sad....but where he is now he is just fine, healthy and happy, and you will see him again one day and it will be wonderful.

I am sorry for your losses, and I hope that your heart heals a bit more each day, God Bless......:alright: :grouphug: :rbheart:

Im so sorry.

I could hardly click on your post when I saw "4 months", let alone imagine what you must be feeling with 2 losses so close together.
