So today as I was in the kitchen, I watched my cat jump into a very small cardboard box I brought home from ALDIs and positioning himself to pee in it! The box was pretty small, he can just barely fit into it while sitting upright, and there was nothing in the box...
He started to pee, then I picked him up, and he continued to pee ALOT, with me holding him up, half dangling, it was actually kind of hilarious.... it was a good 30 seconds or more before he was done. He didn't seem distressed or anything and followed me with curiosity as I poured his pee down the drain
I had added a good amount of bone broth to his last wet meal, which may explain the quantity of pee. I'm always worried that he doesn't drink enough, so I try to add as much liquid to his food as possible.
he was previously checked by the vet who ruled out uti problems (not sure ruled out is the right term, it's just that I asked specifically whether my cat might have UTI issues due to being male), and he has never done this anywhere else...
Would anyone have a possibly explanation for this? he always uses the litter box, and I definitely don't want that to change. I want to know what I can do to discourage this type of behavior!
