Hi!
Nature's miracle in this house :) Granted, as someone mentioned in another thread it does have a fragrance initially but I find that dissipates quickly, and then I can't smell it or the urine.

There's The Equalizer that doesn't require soaking

Also there is Fizzion and SCOEx10 that members use as well :)

Hi. "The Equalizer" that Furballsmom Furballsmom 's referred to is primarily for carpeting and non washable rugs. But, it is very effective on those, and as said above you do not have to saturate the material in order for it to work, therefore drying time is reduced.

The Fizzion and SCOEx10, while I haven't used them personally, are good for most any hard surfaces - including wood.

As far as I know, if you can't find any of them locally, all are available on-line - although I do understand they may not be in some countries.

In terms of washable materials, if you can get them into the washer fairly quickly so that they are not allowed to start drying, you can soak them for a few hours with vinegar and/or baking soda added to the water - and your preferred detergent if you want - and then wash normally.

i had a lot of luck with this. We had a kitty who urinated in a lot of places, namely our pullout couch. I did find it took a few applications, since it's an enzyme type remover. FYI - the skunk remover for your dog also does a bang up job!

What works for one cat might not work for the next cat. Diet and medical conditions have an effect so you might have to try a few things before you find something that works for you. I had to try many many kinds with my problem peer and I spent quite a lot of money experimenting.

I settled on using SUN (Severe Urine Neutralizer) on the urine which is an enzymatic cleaner and then if the item is washable I use LOE by Thornell (Laundry Odor Eliminator) which gets added with the laundry detergent. Thornell also has a product called Cat Odor Off that I've used and found effective. There was another product that I absolutely loved but the company was small and went under.

We use anti-icky poo at the cat shelter but for my guy it didn't work but the board members think it's the best.

Hey Cat slaves :p

What's the best Cat urine remover? Which one would you recommend?

There's so many out there!
As "mom" to many box-challenged cats, my favorites are white vinegar or hydrogen peroxide. Turns out Oxiclean contains powdered peroxide, so I've started using that as well.

Cardboard and newspaper are good neutralizers too.

So far, I've been using Nature's Miracle and that's the only one I've tried and I find it pretty good.

It does not only clear the smell and clean the urine, it removes poop stains and poop smell too. Sometimes my boy have a bit of poo stuck on his bum after pooping, the poop falls onto the rug. I wipe it off with dry paper towels then I spray a little of the Nature's Miracle on that spot and clean it up and after that, I spray a generous amount of the solution and soak the spot and place a thick piece of paper towel over it and a few pieces of folded newspaper over the paper towel and step on it to weigh the papers down and if needed to or something heavy on top of the papers to soak up the liquid. I leave it there for an hour an hour or so and remove the soaked paper and let the spot air dry.

We like Natures Miracle because it's enzymatic and cat safe. For problem areas, the no more marking/spraying stuff misted and left to dry after cleaning works VERY well.
If it's an area in a corner or along the wall, the pee can soak under/into/behind things like baseboards and attract them back. A hand held steam cleaner will help.

Hello J Jeffsmith ! Well, for many years and many cats, Nature's Miracle -- Just For Cats has been our tried-and-true success. I buy it in the gallon size and pour some into smaller bottles which I keep in several cupboards around the house, so it's always handy.

I have used a couple versions of Natures Miracle in the past and have had good success with them. I did notice that the smell seems to get more pungent as the enzymes do their job breaking down the urine. So I decided to try Natures Miracle Oxi, it's orange scented and I don't get that pungent smell as the enzymes do their job at breaking down the urine. Actually has a pleasant orange scent and works very well when used as directed. Actually saved my new lazy boy recliner, which just happened to be a replacement (covered by an extended warranty) recliner after 3 of my cats used as their personal scratching post.

Hello F frkrhe and welcome, with your cats, to TCS! Glad you've had success with the Nature's Miracle Oxi and another good thing about it is that cats hate the smell of citrus, making it less likely they'd want to use those treated spots.
Good luck with your La-Z-Boy! I have my dad's Barcalounger which is upholstered in a brown velour-type material -- it's never been bothered in any way by my cats, who do sometimes like to lounge in it.
