Multiple people (even a veterinarian!) have asked me if Nemi is a Russian Blue. But she doesn't really look like one...? I don't know. Her mom was already pregnant when my grandmother found her. One of the kittens is Nemi. Their mom looked very different, much fluffier.

Nemi is a lovely girl! I would describe her as a blue domestic shorthair.

The solid blue color is frequently seen in domestic cats and doesn't indicate any particular breed ancestry; most cats are not any specific breed. Veterinarians don't have any special training in cat breed identification.

Thank you! Seems about right! It doesn't really matter to me if she is of any specific race or not, but I was just wondering since many people asked.

She’s so pretty! I would describe her as a blue Domestic Shorthair. You could also call her a Maltese cat. I agree with StefanZ that she is a nice lookalike to a Korat.

Thanks! Those are all very close matches. Cat genes are weird lol

Note that people here will often suggest a "closest lookalike," but that doesn't necessarily mean to say your cat is related to that breed. The Korat breed is rare, and your cat's resemblance to that breed isn't close enough to indicate that your cat has Korat ancestry (the coat type and head structure are quite different). It's just a slightly better comparison than Russian Blue for your cat.
