Only about a month and a half till we start to see signs of spring here! :woohoo:

What kind of dressing do you like on your salads?

I've not been eating as many; but I prefer a good vinaigrette. I have a bottle of The Olive Garden's dressing. Occasionally I will use ranch or honey mustard too. A buffalo chicken salad needs blue cheese or ranch with chunks of blue cheese dressing. A local restaurant makes an amazing Buffalo Chicken salad. It could literally be 2 meals it's so full of toppings. But what I really loved was the chunks of blue cheese in it. It really complimented the buffalo chicken!

I always found regular vinaigrette too tart but then discovered this stuff. It's delicious! My very favorite, though, is blue cheese. :yummy:

My taste changes from time to time. Right now, I have five bottles of dressings in the fridge. My favorites at the moment are bacon ranch and balsamic vinaigrette. I use poppy seed for homemade Portillo's chopped salad and bleu cheese for dipping crudites.

My favorite is probably ranch. I know - boring. But I like most creamy dressings, which I can't have now. Balsamic vinegar is good. I don't like Italian.

I like blue cheese which I buy, but I also like lemon garlic pepper dressing and a vinaigrette, which I make at home.

We have large salads every night with our meal, and in the interest of economy...and because we like it...I toss the salad with olive oil and balsamic vinegar. But last week when I was in Trader Joe’s, I saw this toasted sesame dressing and decided to give it a try. It’s really good! Thick and creamy. I’ll use it for other dishes as well.

I hate salad dressing. Yuck! I am allergic to a few vegetables, so my salads are not all that exciting to other people, but I like them. Lettuce, carrots, peppers, and chickpeas. If I am feeling like it, I may put lemon or lime on it. That does not happen very often.

~ I usually make my own - vinegar & olive oil ; seasoning ; crushed garlic. When on sale/closeout I buy blue cheese or French .

My fave is blue cheese made with Roquefort. My nephew is a chef in an Italian restaurant in the Outer Banks in North Carolina. He made this when he was home for Christmas. It was so tasty yet so simple.

Vinaigrette Salad Dressing

1/2 Cup Extra Virgin Olive Oil
1/4 Cup Balsamic Vinegar
3 Tablespoons Yellow Mustard, nothing fancy
One Tablespoon Fresh Lime Juice

Mix in immersion blender

He also made a classic Caesar Salad which I love. My sister hates anchovies so he only used the paste and she loved it.

Now that I've been thinking about salads and craving them, I remember a salad my mother used to make. It was spinach with a warm bacon dressing. I have a similar recipe that I'll try to find. It was really good.
