I just ordered 24 cans of Core Turkey/Chicken kitten can food for my three Ragdolls. I had gone to the Cat Food DB rating website and it had 9 star rating, and high in protein. Grain free. I just did not like the potato in it. Any bad experience with this food?

Mine didn't like it. I got a single can of the adult turkey (I think) on sale and they sniffed and walked away. I think the food is decent enough. If yours will eat it, that's awesome!

I tried Wellness Core Chicken once, and it really caused Trin’s IBD to flair up - I heard the brand was very rich and it gave him an awful tummy ache.

The other two seemed to like it well enough with no ill effects. It’s on Dr Hovfe’s “approves brand” list, she wrote the book “What cats should eat” that I got some great information from.

All the Wellness products contained potato until that was changed to flaxseed ~3 years ago - just another cheap 'filler'.
.
I know flaxseed is a filler. They use it to promote omega 3s that cats can't even use, and it binds the food together :/

Flax can also loosen the stools. Had a friend who would make a flax smoothie when she needed a little help. She called it her flaxative. In cat food, I consider flax just another gum that my Krista could react to.

Flax can also loosen the stools....
Operative word: CAN

Have been using Wellness Complete for years....not only did the changeover to flaxseed result in unchanged stool firmness.....my two mid-teenagers still need a daily Miralax dosing.

That said, every cat has an individual gastro system.........

And, that said..... 10009891 10009891 - I found that the wet CORE products, (at least, when they were introduced) produced very runny stools (and they had potato at that time) - IF the changeover was abrupt. I chalked that up to their much higher fat content. (I just took a look at the current formula....the fat content is still considerably higher than what my guys are used to.) So.....initially, you might want to consider mixing a small amount into something they're currently having and gradually increasing the amount of the CORE. Much easier to prevent 'the runs' than to dry them up!

I figure every post about cat food has an implicit, "every cat is different" or we'd have a lot fewer posts here.
