We are Trapping again on Friday I live on a Horseshoe street and the lady found some of our missing cats around the corner, one may be pregnant.
Thoughts and prayers for Friday please we want to get Orange and White that might be pregnant for sure, and the short haired black one too!

We got Orange & White and Short haired Black!!!!!!!!
The ones we trapped previously are named Sammy & Tex (he's a cowboy)
we will have to name these 2 we suspect Orange & White is either pregnant
or had babies, they will check and release if she had babies (hope not)

I had put out a letter on this street, (I live on a horseshoe street)
a nice lady responded and said the big white one hangs around her house
and is friendly, the ladies said if she can get him in a crate they will take
him to get tested and if it's negative they will rescue and try and adopt it out
they can't adopt positive cats through the rescue.

shoo wee, so grateful my new friend takes the lead on all this and I'm just the helper. It's pretty cool to get them neutered so we don't have more cats living outside.

Thank you! I'm still stressed but I'm getting better
The women I met are so calm about cats, I am not
I am trying to learn from them, but I know I have limits!

Still checking on you and sending hope and prayers. If you read your first post and then your last few you will see a huge difference. Remember our first conversation? You have done an amazing thing. One foot in front of the other. You’ve gotten things rolling and gotten help. It just takes time so hang on. Great job! :goldstar:

Met 2 more ladies this past weekend, my new friends-friends one of the ladies reminds me of you-lots of cat things going on.

If I win the Lottery which is highly unlikely I do play it tho
I would buy a big farm or 2 for Feral cats!

That's so admirable. You have an amazing heart and you're doing so much good for so many innocent lives. I hope you're able to treat yourself to something nice from time to time. You deserve that for everything you do. I'm honoured to know you.

Update of the cats on my street, with all the black cats and early morning feedings, there was confusion on who was who,
so We have Sammy the grey tabby, Tex the Tuxedo, and we have a Black Fluffy with beautiful green eyes, that needs a name, we have Orange and white that needs a name, and now we have a Black Short hair that has some white on him/her and looks like Tex in the Dark (I new I had seen a black short hair but thought I got the cats mixed up!)
So Black short hair will need to be TNR'd but not consistent enough to know what time to go out there. I might give it a go this Sunday where my friend is volunteering at a Feral Cat Clinic in my town.

My friend went on vacation during the holidays and I was able to feed the cats without too much anxiety, I do better with routine and things are starting to become routine, I don't feel like I'm slinking in the dark so much, I'm starting to get the I don't care what you think attitude, I was worrying about the neighbors before, especially since I had gotten some negative responses about Feral Cats, but really I'm not doing anything illegal, it's legal to feed Ferals in California!
I still get a little weird when I see headlights and I'm walking with my cat food and water! I'm so thankful that I have the support of people in my town, I don't feel so alone in this!

Hey! I am glad you took the time to look back at that first post. You’ve done a lot of amazing stuff! Sometimes we don’t realize how far we’ve come unless we do look back. I haven’t forgotten and I’m so happy for you. I knew your love would carry you through.
Met another lady with a lot of “cat things “ going on? I still do! I’m glad to hear there are others out there doing the same thing near you.
It sounds like everything is going very smoothly even if you do feel,” funny” when you’re out with the cat food. This too shall pass my friend. I enjoyed your description of all the kitties. They sound lovely! I have a Black Fluffy in my lap as I write to you. I recently found another kitten too! Yep! Still got cat stuff going on. ;) You just keep doing what you are doing! Great job! Keep me posted on Walli and the others.:hellocomputer:

Chased off a coyote down the street this morning!
It's always something, I'm a bit stressed out, He was eating some of the cat food
that was left for the ferals, I was driving to work and saw him.
I got out of the car and chased him, he was going the wrong way, he was heading for where the other cats eat, so I got in the car and chased him the other way.
I got out of the car and chased him down the street, he went a ways and looked back, I started running after him, got back in the car and chased him all the way down the street.

What should we do? I only feed on weekends and when it rains now.
my friend feeds other days, she will be feeding tomorrow, should I stand guard
should we change the way we feed?
right now we leave food for the cats that are not there right away.
There are only 2 cats that are out there when the food is put down.
should we only feed the cats that are there at that time?

It would be really good if someone could stand guard and pick up the food after the cats have eaten. Hopefully feeders can follow a schedule and the cats know the times the feeders will be there. Coyotes are everywhere, sadly. They will never be eradicated, but caregivers can at least try to protect the cats by doing this.

So we shouldn't leave food unattended?
Kind of hard when we have to go to work and all the cats don't show up.
so if there are cats that don't show up right away, does that mean they are not so hungry? could they be eating somewhere else? or they are just too scared to come out?

The cats are smart enough not to come out when the coyotes are out. Coyotes usually are only out from dusk to dawn unless they are really hungry.

Have you thought of getting a trail camera for the feeding area to see how prevalent the coyotes are? Sadly, the coyotes will always be around. Yet most feral cats are smart. My 3 lived on my deck and surrounding property for 3-8 years. The last year, the coyotes were in my yard almost daily. I would often see on my cameras the cats running to my deck and getting up high on my privacy screen. It scared me to death. Yet, there was nothing I could do. I was so relieved when I moved and all of my feral boys came inside to live. Even though they have been through the wringer inside, nothing compares to the fear of the coyote.

Thankfully Walli is safe in her enclosure!

shadowsrescue shadowsrescue has posted an excellent response. And though we can't know whether or not "your" cats are eating elsewhere, I would assume they are not, to be on the safe side.
