It seems to me that showing Sterling in the CFA shows may be cursed.:) At his first CFA show, he irritated his eye and I pulled him after 1 ring. His second show was okay but his 3rd show he started throwing up at the end of the first day so I pulled him and took him home. We missed the second day. It turned out his treats didn't agree with him. This weekend we have back to back shows in Burlington, Vt. It is not going to be an inexpensive weekend, with entry to 2 shows, a hotel (Hilton since it is the show hotel), gasoline and food. I am sure hoping that nothing goes wrong!!! With that lousy record he is no where near getting his grand championship.

Fingers crossed that whatever happened in the past does not repeat itself. :crossfingers:
Good luck and best wishes at the show this weekend in VT. Please take a pic and keep us posted when you return home with Sterling. He's such a sweet:hearthrob:.

Silvers on the whole tend to be a little smaller than the other Persians. Sterling weighs in at 6.5 pounds, smaller than my other cats. I knew we were in trouble when my friends showed up with 2 (Beautiful!) bi color Persian kittens who were 4 months old that weighed 6 pounds! I think he needs to mature and gain weight to be competitive. 12 rings and got absolutely nothing except the spectators loved him.

I'm not surprised that the spectators loved him. He's so beautiful. His coat is growing in nicely. Things will turn around. He's such a stunning representative of the breed. Hugs to you sweet Sterling. :heartshape:

I'm sorry too but perhaps waiting will be well worth it in the end for both Sterling and you. :hugs:

While I am not a fan of dry food I am following the suggestion of some Persian breeder friends and letting him have kitten dry food once a day. He still has his other food. They assured me he would bulk up on it - they feed it to all of their cats. Honestly, he eats it better than his normal food. We are also working on his coat - which is a nightmare to groom! He is like grooming a cotton ball. It will be great when I finally figure it out - none of mine have quite as cottony a coat so the technique is totally different!

So far, so good. Last week when I weighed him he was almost 6 1/2 pounds. Today I weighed him and he is just a teeny bit over 7 pounds. He has only been eating the new diet since Monday.

Royal Canin Baby Cat. I am using both canned and kibble. He gets it twice a day and then his regular food his other meal.
