I vacuum at night and then spray! Gotcha!
Vacuums are notorious holders and hatchers of flea eggs. I take a little strip of cloth, soak it in flea killer, and tie it around my (bagless) vacuum filter. If you have one with a bag, just drop a bit of cloth soaked in a flea killer down in the bag. They'll die as they hatch!

This is one kitty that will be a lap cat! :)
I hope you can feel the love that this little one is sending out! :vibes:
I just can't help feeling that she started life as "somebody's kitten." And was dumped, or lost...but she's "somebody's kitten" again now, and always will be...I'll take that, happily!

Awwwww. Beautiful update. Beautiful BJ. Hard to believe just a short time ago he was an untouchable feral. You really are a cat whisperer. And I'm so glad you found TCS, and are sharing your kitty journey with us. :catrub:
HEAR HEAR! I can't quite "get" the fact that there was a time that I didn't know you! Isn't that odd?

Mamanyt1953 Mamanyt1953 I know what you mean but aren’t true cat lovers kindred spirits? Brothers and sisters all! I feel like we have always known each other. After all..... same beach early on. Lol

I also put flea spray in my canister for the vacuum and I dump it immediately in a garbage bag that is sprayed. I take the bag out to the garbage can outside right away as well.

That Prime little kitten must have been loved somewhere. She still is. Must have been my holiday gift to find her. Just like Bonjure. They come to us in the strangest ways sometimes. I once found a litter in a birds nest! Second time for me on that one. The first was a single black kitten that I named Raven.

I noticed something interesting when I bought this house. I should have taken it as some kind of indicator! :bluepaw:
This is in the concrete of my front door step! The thing that struck me most is that there is only a single print and not four. A signature?!?! I was a marked person from the start. The cat sign post was already out when I got here!

rubysmama rubysmama Thank you. I think the kitties are really doing the whispering. Maybe that’s why they head bump me!:catrub:Hmmmm. Now I’m starting to catch on to them! ( I owe you special thanks too for helping me. Thank you for being my eyes the other day!) Very good catch!!!!!!

M maggiedemi It’s true. I promise. I have had impossible dreams come true. One includes all these kitties. When I first realized there were over a hundred cats that needed help and only one of me I knew it would be impossible to help them all but I had to try. That’s one impossible dream that you saw come true right here on TCS! +1 new kitten! We never know what will happen if we just try. I found a path to what was needed. If I had not tried, it never would have come true. There is a great song called, “Impossible Dream” that I heard again recently. It’s always been a favorite to me. If you don’t know it you might want to give it a listen! The final words say it all.

Avery Avery Thank you to you too! I am so glad you enjoy hearing the kitties’ stories. Each kitty is special. They have each taught me something and given me much. It’s been a year of great love. I have been very fortunate. I feel like I owe the kitties huge debt. Can I ever return this much love? :catlove:

Our smiles tonight tie in with my cat review a little as well as the arrival of the holiday.
My second rescue comes from some year back and is a permanent resident since he tested positive for leukemia 10 years ago but it remains inactive. He is the one I call my laughing cat. He is the joker of the house. Always getting into things and making me laugh. He gets along with everyone who comes in the house. Mackie owns the house, according to him, and everything that comes into it. Here is the proof and maybe our smiles for tonight.

This is what Mackie was thinking when a package was delivered today.

A package for me?

Better open it!

Allllmost got it.

Looks like presents!

How nice that somebody sent me something!

You can leave Mom. Nothing here for you. I’ll take care of it.

Everything inside totally opened, he did take care of it! I just wonder if he’ll let me see!?!?!?:flail:Maybe tomorrow.

BJ, the new Prime kitten and all the others are well tonight. They are just waiting to see if they get a package delivered. Lol

One last little update and a gift to me. Remember Churchill from the start of my year in review? He was was one of the very first two kittens from the current colony to leave and to break my heart but I got an update on him today.

He is well and very happy! :clapcat:
Dreams do come true! Things change and now I couldn’t be happier for him. :dancingblackcat::purr: Happy Endings!

I can't believe Mack opened the box by himself & got in it. That is one determined little boy. Sometimes I have problems getting my packages open. Send him over, would ya? :D

Churchill looks a lot like Maggie! Look at him all posh laying in front of the fire. :)

M maggiedemi Anything I cannot open...... I just hand it to Mackie. My brother sent him a special cat brush and, not only did he open the box, he got the brush off the card. It was fastened with those plastic wraps that I have to cut with scissors! He can open locked doors too! If you ever need him let me know. Gotta day though, don’t know how I could send him there cuz he’d just opened the crate and get out!

Churchill did look posh! I woukdn’t Mind being in front of that beautiful fireplace myself! I heard from Harlequin’s GrandMom too. No photos as the info was relayed to me but she is spoiled, the belle of the house and greatly loved. She lives about 4 hours north of me. After the adventures of Banjo and Whistle this year, this news makes me very happy. BTW Nanjo and Whistle said to tell Maggie and Demi hello!

rubysmama rubysmama Thank you for posting,” The Impossible Dream” here. I think it should be words to live by. To me, it fits here perfectly. It always chokes me up a bit but I can listen to it over and over. Many times in my life it has been a reminder to keep working towards the things that really count. You happened to choose the Sinatra version which is my personal favorite. :) Maybe others will take the words to heart.:redheartpump:

Is there any cat catcher that doesn’t have a few scratches?

How cool that the Sinatra version is your favourite. I chose it, because it included the lyrics, which also made me a little weepy when I read them.

There's a Bon Jovi line I really like, from their song "Just Older".

"You can't win, until you're not afraid to lose".

So true. If we fear losing then we may not try or give up too quickly. It’s the attempt that takes us places. Then we have a chance to win. We grow in our attempts, win or lose. I’m just older too! Lol Love it!

Churchhill is a gorgeous kitty. He looks very comfortable by the fireplace. Merry Christmas to you and all your wonderful cat babies.
Thank you! Merry Christmas to you and yours! :santa::deer: Had you on my mind! Hope you enjoyed the music!
With Churchill I got very lucky. Sometimes things work out in spite our our worries for them. I’d like to snuggle up next to him for a nice little rest.:)

Okay it time for a few grins! I have been watching my cats play switcharoo all day. I kept trying to get to that package I got yesterday and they have ganged up on me! Here’s what the innocent little fur kids did!

As you know, Mackie opened the package I got yesterday and the claimed it for himself by laying in it all night.
E78D4365-D24B-4735-A6A3-32E001FEEFED.jpeg

When he got out I thought I would get into the contents but found that Smokey had taken the second shift.
787AAA9E-9AA2-45DF-81B0-0D330BC14048.jpeg

Then when Smokey got out Bonjure decided to play in the box. Looks like he had a little fun with some of the contents!
CF5816B7-1B64-41DA-B425-C342D1DE9B13.jpeg

By afternoon I thought, surely I would get a look but the determined look of guard cat Whistle told me otherwise.
3DC5BC74-7C54-4779-B99B-46F8300812BC.jpeg

By this evening I got a double shift working on it and Banjo has joined forces with Purry! Banjo even stuck her tongue out at me when I tried to urge them out! Lol Okay. I’m a patient human.
2FB4181F-61A5-424B-859A-B1D10D14CFC9.jpeg

I returned a little later to find that Lady had moved in and had Thrasher, patiently, waiting in line.
6766851D-339E-4466-B967-FBF8A5F36A78.jpeg

By nightfall I realized I’ve been beaten by the cat squad. There were five cats guarding the box. What’s in there? A pound of catnip? An entire lining of cat treats?
F43BFE08-5637-4273-8A2D-631F4CA382C5.jpeg

Okay kitties. Time to go to bed. I surrender.:flail:I know when I’ve lost the battle. We’ll see who takes over next. There are more cats that haven’t been in the box yet. Maybe if I het every cat a box for Christmas I can trick them into letting me have my box. :p It is nice to see the older resident cats have fully bonded with the rescue cats. Kitties United to claim the box! Some causes are just that important!
Just a tip for everyone else..... if you get a package, open it outside. :)

Good night everyone. :wave3:

Mamanyt1953 Mamanyt1953 I’m loving the life Churchill found too! His parents adore him and he recently went on vacation with them to the mountains. While he was there, his brother Shakespeare ( and adopted Mom) joined them. I think it’s amazing that they still get to see each other and love it! They were fostered together and the lady that fostered them kept Shakespeare and is friends with the adopting parents of Churchill and Harlequin. As a reminder, Here are their baby pictures.

Shakespeare

Churchill

The three together. Even then Shakespeare and Churchill were often found together.

The woman who adopted Shakespeare is also friends with the people who adopted my kittens Sandy Claws and TurtleDove. Here are there baby pictures, in case you haven’t seen them before.
When I found them and siblings their Mom was gone and the babies were cold. Here they are taking advantage of their first exposure to a heater.

After being reunited with their Mom they were very happy kittens. This is Sandy Claws.

How is that for a Christmas cat story? All kitties pictured were adopted and are now a year old and very, very happy.

Turtle was one of the first kittens I posted photos of on TCS.

Love to all from the kittens of TCS. I join them in throwing you kitty kisses for giving us your love and support. :touched:
