I rarely wake up "on my own," or 'naturally,' it is always one of the dogs saying "got to go out NOW HuMOM!" Usually it is Frankie. So my first thought is always, can I make it to the door and back to the bathroom, or do I stop first?

Hope that isn't TMI! LOL

First thought "I have to release the chickens" (I lock them up in a coop at night to keep them safe from predators). After releasing and feeding my 3 feathered girls, I serve a meal to Missy. Then coffee (and breakfast if there is time left).

I wish I still had my 7 chickens. They were so fun to wake up to, they were so happy to greet the morning! :bawling:
I'm sorry you have to miss them M maggiedemi .
You're right, chickens are always cheerful in the morning and I love to see them run and chat.

Here they are : matriarch Sussex and the youngsters, Ocha and Uri.

Today my first thought was that I wondered if there was a raccoon in the neighborhood that caused the neighbor's husky to be raising such a ruckus :confused2:

But usually my first thought is thinking how charming it is to hear my Big Poppy-cat talking to me, chirping and trilling, telling me it's time for breakfast :dancingblackcat::bigeyes:
that day, your first thought was related to the neighbor's husky 'raising a ruckus', but usually it's how charming it is to hear your Big Poppy-cat talking to you!!! most excellent!! :D

I'm thinking about my to-do list also. I have one written down the night before, and every morning I think there's too much on it and I'll never get it all done.
the first thing you think about is your to-do list!!! very nice!! :)

when i have a lot to do, i'll write up a to-do list, but if it's just a handful of things or less, i usually don't.

i used to plan on getting a certain amount of things done on particular days, but it doesn't always work out for me that way. these days, i make plans to get things done, prioritize them, and whatever doesn't get done one day gets added to another days to-do list.

This morning it was : Onsa, quit kneading my gut. But almost every other morning, the first thought is, I better get the dogs out before old man Beagle pees on my bed.
your first thought that morning was 'Onsa, quit kneading my gut', and almost every other morning it's that you'd better get the dogs out before your senior Beagle pees on your bed!!! awesome!! :D

The first thing I do when I get up is feed the animals. Every morning I wonder how the heck my dog has so much energy so early in the morning. He dances, bounces, and whines for food and that's just so much work so early. I can't even walk in a straight line when I get up.
the first thing you think, is to wonder how your dog has so much energy so early in the morning!!! great!! :D

something i always love, is when our Dude (cat) is laying snuggled next to me in the morning when i wake up, is so happy that i'm awake that he rolls around on his back, and then settles in snuggled in my arms! :cloud9:
