Snakes. I know most of them are harmless, but when I see one slithering across the ground, it's such an unusual movement, I freak out.

I'm terribly allergic to bee and wasp stings, but unfortunately I'm not afraid of them, except those ground wasps that shoot at you like suicide bombers.
:yeah: i don't go running off screaming when i see a snake, but unless i know for sure that it isn't poisonous...i'll keep a healthy distance.

i do like most types of snakes that people keep as pets, though. in fact, at one job i'd sometimes look after a coworkers ball python, and would fill the tub with a very little lukewarm water for the snake to 'swim' around in while it was shedding.

I'm not afraid of deer. I don't think they would hurt people, would they? :eek2:
i don't believe that deer seek to go after or hurt people, but if cornered they will 'hoof' people, or use their antlers and 'gore' people -- as in, can rear up on back legs and strike out with their front hooves, or charge with antlers coming straight at a person.

More people are injured by captive deer than by captive wildcats! I don't know the stats on wild deer/wildcats. But if you get in the way of a buck in the wrong season, he WILL gore you with his antlers on stomp you with his hooves. Happens to hunters fairly often.

I am afraid of foxes, frogs, alligators, crocodiles, roaches, and earwigs.
I am also afraid of bears and raccoons but I like both of them.

I don't like very many dogs.
I try and be nice to them (because if you're not nice to dogs you're pretty much viewed as a monster) but the truth is, most dogs really annoy me.
Same. Dogs are like the small children of the animal world. I find that the older I get the less patience I have for both. :dunno:

I absolutely abhor anything simian - monkeys, orangutans, gorillas, chimpanzees, ANYTHING of that sort. They're not cute or cuddly. They're like badly failed prototypes of humans. I don't want to see them in person and I don't even want to see them on TV.

At risk of being drummed off the site, I have to admit I strongly dislike Chihuahuas. Other dogs are great.

I'm afraid of alligators, which are found around here more than we'd like. Yes, they even show up in urban areas here, especially during mating season or after a flood. And I hate even the thought of a poisonous snake, and we have quite a few kinds of them, and in fair abundance. Copperheads are the most common, but since we're somewhat close to a largish creek, we get a lot of water moccasins, too, and those things are aggressive.

I like most other critters or we at least let one another alone.

I am afraid of all snakes even little ones. And rats. Once in awhile I will see one at the dumpster and I just jump back in the car. I am not exactly afraid of cockroaches but I despise them.

Up until 5 years ago, I said the same. Then my sister ended up with one her boyfriend bought off somebody who was mistreating her. Lulu is such a little doll that my nephew, who grew up with huge dogs, decided to get a Chihuahua puppy. Guess what? His CeeCee is an extremely good-natured, affectionate little thing, too. I still prefer large dogs and couldn't see myself with a Chihuahua, but now I know there are nice ones.

Most Chihuahuas aren't raised well. People treat them like toys instead of dogs. If they're raised properly they can be delightful like any other breed.
