Hi everyone, I’m new to community and wanted some insight before I head to the vet this weekend. I’m worried sick about my cat.
I have a domestic shorthair who is 1.5 years old. Last week I noticed one of her eyes was reflective all the time. Both of her eyes reflect in the light but one of them does so even in normal lighting. When i got a closer look at her eye I see some texture in the top left of her eye ball. Could this be an Ulcer? or something more serious?

She’s having no discharge, no redness, no swelling, or pain as far as I can tell. Her behavior is the same and her sight does no seem to be impaired.
She did recently get groomed at a pet salon so my initial thought is irritation from the shampoo? I also have another cat and they play rough all the time so that could be another potential cause?

Let me know if any of you have experienced his before

You can see the textured area in this picture:

Thanks!

Hi. I am responding just because I know how difficult it can be to wait to hear from someone when your asking for help or advice. I hope other members on this site will soon see your post and offer some suggestions.

In the meantime, since the eye appears cloudy to me, I found an article about possible reasons for this to occur in cats. Maybe it will at least help you with ideas about why might be wrong with your little girl.

What Causes Cloudy Eyes in Cats?

A vet visit is in order and I am glad you are going. There are several different causes for cloudy eye and most are easily treatable. Your vet will probably want to do a dye test to see if their is surface damage and likely give an eye ointment to treat at home. All my instances of cloudy eye in cats have cleared up fairly quickly with proper treatment.

Ulcers are a possibility as well. But even those have treatment options so don't stress too much. Let us know how it gows.

I have a cat with eye issues so I would definitely go to the vets. Many issues are cleared up quickly as the other members have said. If you are on good terms with your vet perhaps you could send the photos to him/her prior to the visit.
