I bet they've gotten a zillion orders this last weekend, Black Friday to Cyber Monday. And when the number of orders go up, an increase in mistakes is inevitable.

They always do an excellent job of fixing any mistakes though.
Yes, that is exactly how they explained it to me..

Chewy is really great..

The only problem I had was some time ago when litter was on sale and I ordered several big bags - some for me and some for the rescue. The boxes arrived smashed and the bags torn so that the little leaked out into the boxes.

Could you save the litter? Did you tell Chewy? There was awhile there when they weren't using as much packing paper as before -- maybe when Petsmart (?) first took over? The amount of paper has increased again. I try to keep my orders to below 30 lbs, for my lifting ability, but it might make the boxes less likely to be damaged. In your case, it would mean making several orders on different days. I'll bet Chewy might pack the order in more boxes if you asked them. It'd be worth a try anyway, especially if you told them about the torn bags.

Oh one more thing about FedEx! (Shh I'm giving the inside scoop here) We are probably the reason why your packages are arriving late at this time...we're in peak season. That means thousands upon thousands more packages being piled into our facility. We get so many every day that we can't fit them all onto our trucks to deliver. (And those poor drivers are out from 7 AM to 9 at night already sometimes)

As an example...my warehouse usually gets around 2,700 packages total. Today we received 6,700. Some of them were forced to stay there until tomorrow when we can get them onto a fresh truck. :/

I concur, Chewy spoiled me with super speedy delivery and just a couple of weeks ago was disappointed with them for the first time. My packages never went past arriving at my door 1 to 2 days from check out, the latter if I’m ordering late at night. The last order took a week and tracking never updated past the printed label. Mind you, they sent me another box which arrived sooner. I’m grateful and didn’t expect that at all, but I’ve come to rely on a time frame which never failed me and it’s why I've enjoyed ordering from them. I might not sleep tonight. Things will never be the same..

I'm annoyed they didn't post my review about the new Tiny Tiger treats NOT being Grain-Free, but I haven't had any out of the ordinary issues with orders. (just one busted can that they refunded me $1.something for)
Yes I'm quoting my own self.

Update: Today I got an email from them saying that they noticed my review and wanted to give me some grain-free treat options, and basically offered to let us try one free. I declined that but did reply thanking them and explained more in detail about why it was frustrating to have a grain-free cat food line suddenly come out with treats that are full of corn/soy/wheat.
And I thanked them for reading, and attached pics of the kitties haha

They put my review up!

Dang, their customer service is good.

Were the Tiny Tiger treats advertised as grain free? My cats like the turkey and giblets flavor of their food (the only one without added fish) but I didn't even know they made treats. I guess it's a lot like Fancy Feast. Their canned food is grain free but their treats aren't. :dunno:

Chewy is still worth it. Just bought 4 cases of Dr. Elsey's since it's just $30 per case. I would buy more but need to refrain since we're moving in a few weeks.

Sent my order in for dog food and a bag of litter. Always a bag of litter with every order.

No, they weren't. And I'm not trying to totally slam them, but it's just weird to me that a new line came out that was grain-free food (which says so on the label, and is a selling point), and then they came out with treats under the same name that aren't.
I didn't know Fancy Feast was grain-free, interesting point but they don't broadcast it on the label. I did know it's a great low carb food that's helped a lot of our shelter's diabetic kitties get "off the juice" (insulin). I'm not familiar with their treats at all.
I'm a tad nit-picky I guess. :)

I think it's just certain Fancy Feast pates that are grain free, I thought that was something I read somewhere here before. But yeah, I agree it's strange for a company to make a grain free food but then do the complete opposite for treats! I'm a stickler for reading ingredients so that's pretty much the first thing I do whenever I find a food on Chewy that I'm interested in trying so we're both nit-picky.

For the price of the Tiny Tiger treats I fully expected them to be the same as Temptations or Friskies Party Mix. You just don't find a big bucket of grain-free treats for $4 ;).

Yeah, when I ordered 35-pound Tidy Cats, the buckets were open and some litter was in the box. I poured it back into the buckets (one was broken but the other wasn't, and I had a spare bucket around) and it looked like all the litter was there so I didn't complain because I knew they'd replace it or issue a refund and I didn't want that. There were paper and cardboard spacers in the box but I guess at that weight getting tossed around isn't good for a plastic bucket.

But, part of my autoship is a 40-pound bag of Chewy's brand of litter (in a bag not a bucket) and that always arrives just fine. I think it's because the rigid plastic of the Tidy Cats bucket is more likely to crack and a thick plastic bag won't.

I've had a few crushed items here and there but, it didn't damage it beyond use so, no worries. I did have one container of Tidy cats litter, I think 35lb with the lid busted open like W Willowy . It appeared to be all there so I didn't complain about it. There is something left to be desired with some of their packing expertise. I've worked in shipping and receiving before and it's obvious that some of the workers are just chunking it in the box and throwing some tape on it. It's hard to find good help theses days! I would think that cat trees would be ok. The manufacturer should have pack it and the cat tree's I've purchased were meticulously packed. If no damage to the box, it should be ok.

I think I see a book in your future, perhaps of the Tom Clancy sort. He did say a video game inspired "Hunt for Red October."

I can’t help it. Costco also has cheap clumping litter but I hate the bag packaging. If you’re lucky you can catch 42-lb bag there for like 9 dollars.
