You probably have. It's actually called Happy Christmas (war is over)

I like this song and stuff from Trans Siberian Orchestra. The rest you can keep.

I think my favorite is Trans Siberian orchestra. They come to Columbus every year, this year it is Dec 26 but I haven't went. My favorite traditional Christmas carol is O Holy Night. There are only a few people who can do it really well.

I remember back in the '50s when my parents bought our first record player, and the albums they bought were Christmas music by Perry Como and a Christmas comedy one by Spike Jones. I also remember when Brenda (aka 'Little Miss Dynamite') Lee was in the top 40 on a regular basis, and 'Rockin' Around the Christmas Tree' was a staple on the radio.

When I was a HS freshman, I was dragooned into the Freshman Chorale- they needed baritones- and there was a girl from the Seneca reservation who sang O Holy Night at our Christmas concert, and she was absolutely outstanding with her solo performance. She could have gone far with her music, but cancer took her too soon.

I really like Christmas music! The spiritual kind is my favourite :cloud9: very beautiful.

- We Three Kings
- Silent Night
- Little Drummer boy (Favourite Version by NTNU)
- Mary did you know? (Pentatonix)
- O Come, O Come Emmanuel
- Joy to the World
- Do You Hear What I Hear
- Hark the Herald Angels Sing
- What Child Is This

And many others!

I hardly ever get to hear them though other than in private - since it's not politically correct to play them in many places. I absolutely cannot stand Maria Carey's All I Want For Christmas or Jingle Bell Rock o_O So overplayed, going to commit eardrum suicide if I hear them again.

Some contemporary songs I really like too - Last Christmas, Silver Bells etc

I like Mannheim Steamroller, too, as well as Windham Hill’s Winter Solstice series. And I love the sacred choral works such as Handel’s Messiah and Bach’s Christmas Oratorio. I don’t have a religious bone in my body, but these pieces are gorgeous and inspiring—particularly if experienced live performed by an outstanding choir such as the Mormon Tabernacle Choir.
your favorites are Mannheim Steamroller, Windham Hill's Winter Solstice series, as well as Handel's Messiah and Bach's Christmas Oratorio!!! very nice!! :D

i might have heard some of the Windham Hill's Winter Solstice series.

I love Mannheim Steamroller also and the Transiberian Orchestra. There is also a disc of a New York orchestra with a prima diva singing an upbeat song about the "little man-child" that I just adore. I would dig it out to get all the info correct, but it means yoga acrobatics to get to it right now.

i've definitely heard Transiberian Orchestra, and enjoyed them!! :agree:

I don't actively listen to Christmas songs. If they happen to be on, I'll enjoy them. I think the years of working retail and having to endure Christmas songs the day after thanksgiving all the way to Christmas desensitized me.
The only time I purposely listen to Christmas songs is on Christmas.

Any iteration of "Joy to the world" is hilarious to me, because it reminds me of my childhood Christmas programs where we had to sing it.
you enjoy listening to Christmas songs only on Christmas Day, and any iteration of Joy to the World is hilarious to you!!! great!! :agree:

I love Christmas music but not Transiberian or Manheim .. I like fun stuff I can sing along to. Mariah Carey's 'All I Want For Christmas Is You' is the best song she's ever done and all my friends think I'm a real nerd for loving that song as much as I do. Can't help it.

My other favorite is Brenda Lee's version of Rockin' Around The Christmas Tree. When I was little I misheard it when she says "pumpkin pie" in the song, and thought she said "f***in' pie" and I got a smack in the face for singing along (truly I thought those were the words)....
But now I point it out to people and we sing it that way and cackle like idiots.

Working in a chain retail pharmacy, I'm the only person who gets excited when they start with the Xmas music. Whatevah! Stay cranky then. :p
you love Christmas music, especially the 'fun stuff' you can sing along to, as well as Mariah Carey's All I Want For Christmas Is You and Brenda Lee's Rockin' Around The Christmas Tree!!! awesome!! :)

i really like Mariah Carey's All I Want For Christmas Is You, too!! :agree: i used to sing along with it, and to my little Snick :hearthrob: .
