Thanks everyone. No, no surgery. She doesn't feel like it would be in her best intetest. Because of the fluid returning so fast, & said it's agressive carsanoma.
Besides, if any surgery was done, it would have to be a specialist, we'd have to go up to Raleigh, & it would just all be too much for her. Its already stressful anytime I have to take her to the vets.
I just hate that this fluid keeps coming back so soon. If it weren't for that, I could get her some pain meds until she was ready to go, but unfortunately this stupid fluid is calling the shots....which I hate!
At least with Angel I had 2 months of trying chemo to process, & prepare. This just isn't fair!

I'm so sorry.
But you have nothing to regret, you've been a wonderful Mom to Sammie, and she know that, she is grateful for what you have done and are doing for her.

If this is the fate she's going to face, enjoy the last moments you have with her, take lots of photos, be close to her as much as you can.

We're here, if you need anything!

Oh Kelly, I am so upset to hear this.. so sorry..

I really do not know what to say.. the bond you two have is priceless.. and she is too young.. just not fair.. not to anyone..

I am shocked.. and I am getting angry, in place of you..

I think I know how you must be feeling.. and it stinks.. I am so sorry..

Try to find some enjoyment in the time, you have together.. sigh..

At least you have a great relationship with your Vet.. that is so important..

All of us are there with you.. we may not post much, but we are there with you.. please know you are not alone,...

love...

Antonio65 Antonio65 & artiemom artiemom ,
Thank you so much. I know most of you have been through loss as well.
Cindy, especially your long fight for, and journey with precious Artie. You know those ginger boys have a special place in my heart! It's just a lot to take in, in such a short time. We'll see what x-rays show tomorrow morning, to see if she needs to be tapped again. I hate it, but would rather check there, than end up having to go to somewhere she doesn't know over the wknd. It's just so hard with work & the holiday coming up, & my vet only being there Mon & Fri next WK. She has to be the one to do it, if Sammie can be ok through the WK, it will probably have to be Friday. Then I at least will have the wknd, & not have to work until Monday. It just sucks all the way around!
I do have lots of pictures, I'm always taking them!

Just took this picture. When she's not on her tree in my room, looking out front, she likes to look out back. The window on the door is too high, so we put a chair there for her.
I put a blanket on it earlier for her.
My sweet shinny little girl. :hearthrob:

Thanks you guys. I love you all! As long as we've all been around, & here for each other, I Really do mean that. I wish I could hug all of you in person!!!! :grouphug2:
If I ever win the lottery, we'll find a central location, & I'll rent out a whole hotel, so we can all come & meet & spend time with each other!

I took Sammie in this morning as planned, so I wouldn't have to take the chance of having to go to the ER this wknd if needed.
They are keeping my Mon 9:00 appt, just in case I need it, but doubt it, since we were just there. I went ahead & made an appt for wedns. At 11:00 to be tapped again, since it's been about every 4 days. I hate to do it, but that will get us through the WK & Thanksgiving. Then because we are having to do this so often, I will say goodbye to my baby on Friday when Dr.Rockwell is BK.
She had to be the one to do it. She's always been there for me, for so long now. I don't want anyone else.
They gave me a copy of the report today,
Here it is,

My heart aches for you and even though we have all been there it doesn't lessen the pain. :hugs: I will keep Sammie and you in my thoughts this week. We are all here for you to offer our love and support. :grouphug:

This is what I mean about it being so hard.
She doesn't look sick, no 3rd eye showing, etc.. or act it too much at all. It's just that darn fluid! I can't have her tapped every 4 days, & put her through that stress twice a week. It's just too sad. But at the same time hard to send her to the rainbow bridge when she doesn't look ready. ......I hate this!!
Took these this afternoon. It's nice out. 60 & sunny, so she's enjoying sitting in the window, feeling the sun, & watching the birds.

Sammie is sooo beautifullllll. I feel your pain. It's hard for us to know when the right time is. I wish they could speak.:hugs::grouphug:

I read once, I think here, that there was a quality of life assessment that people do? I'm not sure what the test or questions for that are but maybe that's something the vet can help you assess?

I know when White Label was accidentally poisoned (she was one of my Feral Kitties that recently moved inside - Neighbours put some stuff out that was a bad idea and well - badness resulted) had fluid build up as a result of that and then an opportunistic infection as a result. There was medication she was put on to get rid of the fluid. I'll go see if I can find the bottle of what it was - as I don't think I threw it out - and get the name for you. Maybe that's an option?:crossfingers:

Thanks you guys.
No, I don't think they would do a tap I could drain. I think they need to have that, know how much is ok, etc.. I don't know.. besides, I think that would lessen her quality of life, because she probably would feel it & be miserable, affect her mobility, etc...
As far as a med to help with the fluid, I know the vet said she didn't want to put her on anything until we knew what we were dealing with. Regardless, It would still be just a matter of time before it got worse, because carsanoma is agressive. Then it would be a guessing game of is she in pain? Would she just be spaced out on pain meds all the time anyway?? I can & will certainly ask about something for the fluid, because this soon, her still like this, just feels too soon. It would also have to really work. I just can't keep taking her BK for x-rays to see of she needs to be tapped & then that too.

I asked for the same thing when it was time for my sweet Lola. Only a few chosen vets would have been able to do what had to be done.

I'll be thinking of you over the next days.
