Hi all, new to this site.

I got a stray female cat spayed at a vets 10days ago, I have kept her indoors since. I am wondering if its normal for her to still be weak and moving slowly, she is eating and using the litterbox and happy to sit on my lap but it is how tired and slow moving she is that concerns me. Ive only ever had male cats and they bounce straigh back after a neuturing. I know spaying is a more serious surgery. Is it normal for her to still be weak and tired?

Any insight or advice would be greatly apprechiated.

Thank you

10 days is too long for her to still be in pain. What was her personality like before she was spayed?

I'd give the vet a call.

Thank you very much for your reply.

She was always shy and quiet and just generally grateful to be indoors and receiving food. A change from my other spoilt entitled cat lol but its the moving slowly thats new. I live a good bit away from the nearest vet and dont have a car so finding a way there sometimes takes me a few days.

Coojee had her spay operation Monday 1st. She then wore a onesie for 7 days. The onesie came off today & she has been tearing around playing - back to normal. If it hadn't been for the onesie - I think she would probably have been active by day 3 after the op.

Your girl should not be weak. You should take her to the vet as soon as you can. Perhaps also get a telephone consultation if it will take you a while to get there.

Hey guys, sad update. The vet told me to bring her in asap and suspected an absess. She rang me an hour later and said she found a bad life threatening disease that cant be cured. I was so shocked I cant remember what its called but she had to be put to sleep. She reasured me theres nothing I couldve done and that she had that disease a while but her immune system was down and caused it to progress quickly. Thanks for the advice, she was in a lot of pain and at least her suffering is over now. I wont hesitate in future. Straight to the vet at any sign of sickness.
