Latin was probably my favorite. Not that I remember much Latin now; but I had an awesome teacher who loved her students (even if not all the kids appreciated her). She was the only Latin teacher in the school; so I had her for all 4 years. I really found Roman History and Architecture interesting. She didn't force us to speak in Latin; which helped me stay interested to be honest.

I liked English Literature too. Some of the books we had to read were awful; but I like words and reading. I just didn't like memorizing grammar rules. I think good writing can come more naturally when you let someone develop a love of reading.

I had a really great Economics teacher also. He loved teaching it and it showed because he made the class very enjoyable.

My least favorite was math. I started struggling about the time we got into multiplication, division and fractions. If you don't get comfortable with those; how are you supposed to do well with algebra, geometry, etc? Thankfully it's my DD's best subject so far and I'm using a mastry program to teach DS.

In high school, my favorites were chemistry and pottery. In college it was microbiology. I was going to get a degree in biology but the math requirement scared me away. I have a degree in writing instead. I wish math courses allowed you to take a longer time to really try to learn the material.

My least favorite in high school was gym and this social skills class I was required to take because I was in special ed in 9th grade. It was by far the stupidest class ever (we literally sat and watched movies every day, I worked on homework from other classes) and I begged my mom to get me out of special ed because I hated that I had to waste a class period on it. In college my least favorite class was probably the history class that covered from 1500 to the present. It was too broad of a course to interest me.

Favorite -- toss up between English and History.

Least favorite -- PE. I'm pretty much rubbish at athletic stuff (although much later learned that there were some issues like a very mild astigmatism on top of my extreme nearsightedness and exercise-induced asthma). I'm glad that nowadays, there are some other PE options (my children's high school offers yoga as one PE option, for example).

I loved home ec but not the sewing part. I was terrible at it. I liked the cooking part though. Least favorite subjects? That would be a toss up between gym class and math. I hated them both with a passion.
Hahaha, same here! Loved cooking but omg so bad at sewing. I remember we had to do a fancy trim; rick-rack I think? What a mess. I still can not sew a button onto a shirt. Well barely.

Least favorite though was math for sure. All kinds. Funny thing is a major part of my job is numbers related and I'm great at it. (EDIT: GYM TOO)

Favorite was probably a toss up of English and art. I wrote well back then and have been an avid reader since very young. And all kinds of art turned me on early too, used to draw & paint, pottery whatever. Looking forward to retiring so I have free time to get back into those things.

Hated math and science. My brain just does not work that way. The only C I got in in HS was in algebra. I loved history and languages - English, Spanish and French.

In 7th and 8th grades we had to take music and art. I got a C in music because we had to get up and sing. I was forced to sing soprano even though I am alto. I have no musical ability at all and did not think it was fair to be judged on a talent I had no control over. I aced the written part, though. And art meant drawing. I do not have that talent. But I am creative in other things. I sew and do craft shows and sell some of my things.

I did not like Home Ec because I was so far ahead of everyone else. In 7th grade we had to make an apron. About 6 straight seams. By then I was putting in sleeves, zippers, etc. And for cooking we made toast with an egg on top. By then I was making supper for 6. Not gourmet, but still...

Maths seems to be a pretty unpopular subject, I'm glad I'm not the only one who struggles with it.

Funny so many of you don't like sewing. I quite enjoy doing that. I don't make anything fancy, just blankets and cushion covers for the cats and a couple of yoga mat bags for myself.

I like having something to sew when I have a movie or documentary to watch. I can't just sit still and watch something, my hands need something to do.

:p

Chem is the bane of my existence. I hate it so much.

Physics was nice and super interesting, but I couldn't do it, so I get super bad grades, haha! I wish I can understand it, but *shrugs*

But my absolute fav are the biology and math classes.

...with the cats...
my favorite subjects were math, latin, geography, french, and some of the english classes -- depended on the teacher. home ec was something i simply refused to take, and took a shop class instead.

i didn't enjoy gym classes, they seemed kind of...pointless. i've always prefered to get my exercise by doing things -- like cutting and stacking firewood.
