So, my cat was screwing around on a dining room chair and somehow managed to fall off it with only her leg hooked onto it. She was screaming and hissing in pain. I quickly unhooked her leg and freed her, and in the process she bit me really deep on my pinky. I’m taking her to the vet at 3:30 then urgent care for me. She’s walking and even jumping on the bed with her leg fine. But will having to wait until 3:30 to go to the vet impact her? It’s almost 11:30 now. Thank you

My boy, we think, did the same thing and broke his leg. He did it outside though and was missing for four days. It was another five days before he could have surgery. The time delay between injury and surgery did not have any know affect on him.

That's not to say it can't, but if you are keeping her in a smaller space so she can't damage her leg further and/or she is limiting her movement the risk is minimal. I would encourage you to get x-rays of her leg to be sure she didn't get skeletal damage. While a pain response check and feeling for damage can find a break or fracture; they don't always. X-rays can ensure you are following the proper recovery protocol from the beginning and that the damage doesn't become worse. Hopefully it's not broken but I know my boy did break his and did not respond to pain and it wasn't felt by the vet. The only reason we knew was me insisting on x-rays.

I am actually more concerned about delaying your urgent care visit. Especially since it was a deep bite. If you can bump up your visit to get it looked at now that would be better.

Yay!! :yess:

So glad that everything is good with her. Take care of yourself too and hopefully it will end up being one of those scares with no harm done.

My oldest cat got her paw stuck in a folding stepstool. She whined, hissed, and bit me as well. Deep puncture wound. I ended up with a high powered antibiotic. Glad she's okay and hope you get to urgent care soon.
