How lovely! Unfortunately my Luciano is still a biter. I wish he would learn how to lick. Maybe I should look into that long acting injection of buprenorphone.:catman:

Little Bella Roma now has what my partner affectionately refers to as Sick Cat Butt Syndrome.

Don't you jump up here on my side of the bed with your Sick Cat Butt Syndrome!

For the rest of the world, it's called diarrhea.

This cat cat been to the vet more than Atticus and Thirteen combined. Week before last it was her terribly, terribly inflamed, bloody gums and breath that would stop a bullet. Our vet looked at her and said she was teething and that gingivitis was fairly common at that stage. I immediately piped up and said, "Oh but I brush her teeth," and the vet told me to stop. She said that brushing them now would hurt and then Bella Roma would associate getting her teeth brushed with pain. She gave her some Clavamox for a week and now, about ten days later, her gums look light years better. The odd thing is that while she was on it she had no diarrhea at all, but now that we've stopped it, she's passing super smelly, mucusy loose stools. When she jumps she leaves a trail after landing. And she absolutely CANNOT stop licking her cat butt. She also urinated in her cat bed, which is something she's never done before. I thought UTI at first, but how in the world could she have a uti after coming off a week's worth of Clavamox?

I texted my vet who called me and told me to give her some metronidazole which I have on hand. She also said no food for 12 hours. I got the pill in her but I'm worried it's going to make her sick with no food.

She is not at all happy about having to skip her dinner, I can tell you that right now.

Oh no, poor little girl!

If she has a sore butt from the diarrhea it must hurt when she uses the litter box. She's probably associating the litter box with the pain, which is why she peed on her cat bed instead.

Hope she's better soon.

I think you're right. She went into the litter box this morning and then came busting out shortly thereafter trailing POOP! I had some Neo-Predef a while ago but dropped the bottle when the top was off. :censored: I called my vet and asked for more but they are out. :censored::censored::censored: If they can't source it by the end of today I'll order it from Chewy. It is MAGIC cat-butt medicine!
