When a cat is in heat, she doesn't care whether the tom she finds is "mean." She just cares that he's male. The feline reproductive mechanics are rather brutal.
I see. . .

Virtually all adult cats are lactose intolerant; you were right to avoid it. Almond milk is highly unlikely to be palatable to a cat, though it wouldn't hurt her in small quantities.
I'm going to be honest, in the past few days I've been giving her some milk, for the following reasons:
1. I don't have any other food to give her at the moment.
2. To make sure she doesn't leave my area.
3. To provide her with nutrients to make up for the lack of food.
4. And now that she has these kittens, I want to be sure that they are getting nutritious milk from Mittens.

I am reluctant to give her milk, but I'll be sure to do it in moderation.

Please don't give her milk. You can get cat food from even the dollar store that would help. She isn't getting valuable nutrition from milk, but she may be getting an upset stomach.

How old are the kittens now? Are you able to bring them inside? Can the shelter who is helping to spay the mom help to find them a foster?

Also, can you share the name of the group that is helping you to spay? There is another poster in NYC who needs some resources.

I think the kittens are now about 2 months old. They like to hang out around my house and I sometimes see Mittens cuddling with them. I'm not sure if they can offer shelter though. I'll email them about it though (and I hope I'll be able to visit them). They say just keep feeding them.

And I'd love to bring them inside, but rules are rules, unfortunately.

The group is called TNR Utopia.

Oh yeah, and I want to ask, since I kind of saw something strange recently.
I was sitting at my computer when I heard one of the kittens meowing loudly. I looked out the window and saw the father cat of the kitten on top of her, biting her neck. I knocked on the window, and they both were startled. Does anyone know what the hell that was? I hope it's nothing, sexual, if you know what I mean. . .

Can you post a photo? If the kittens are older than you think, they could have been mating.

When can you start getting them spayed and neutered?

Here's a picture of one of them I took last week. I have other pictures but this is the best quality one.

And I'm hoping soon, I told them about how she has 3 kittens, so they say that they have to figure ot out first.

Scruffing can also be a way of asserting dominance, so that may have been what you saw. Definitely get the all fixed as soon as you can though.

Hey guys, I just wanted to let you all know that the spaying/neutering was a success. It only took a few days, and Mittens and her kittens don't act any differently. However, we also caught some kittens (not Mittens', they belong to another cat which we managed to spay) that were only about a few weeks old. The TNR people are gonna see if they can domesticate them or not, otherwise they'll bring them back. If they say they can domesticate them, I'll create a new thread asking if anyone is willing to adopt them.

Oh, good job!

I think they have every chance of being adoptable if you get them that young. We'll be glad to give you some tips about re-homing when the time comes.

2 of the kittens are with a foster, and one of them is a bit sick with diarrhea, but they're giving her an antibiotic and say she'll probably recover.

Thanks for your concern!

Is the TNR group helping you to do more spaying and neutering in your area? How many more cats do you have to go?

Sorry for the late response.

I have to call them up, I still have 2 cats to neuter in my area (that I know of at least). I've seen some cats a bit further away with tipped ears, though, so there probably are others having TNR people come by.
