Automatic Litter Box

I’ve been using a pan litter box, and per the vet’s suggestion, a non-clumping clay that has to be changed every day. However, it’s difficult to get to every day, creates a lot of dust, and makes a mess. The kittens don’t seem to like it very much, either.
I’m interested in looking into automatic litter boxes, as they might be easier to deal with. I know they won’t eliminate the work needed to keep a litter box clean, and that I will still have to take time to clean them, but I’m hoping it’ll make things easier.
I wondered what models you would suggest? I was looking into the Litter Robot III, but I read some bad reviews about it on Amazon, so I wasn’t so sure.

I'd highly recommend the omega paw rolling box. It's not technically an automatic box because you roll it yourself but it's so much quicker and easier on the back than scooping. Essentially, you roll the box upside down. All the clean litter goes through a grate and the clumps fall into a tray. You roll the box back, empty the tray, and then you're done.

It does require a clumping litter though. How old are your kittens?

They are just over four months old, but growing quickly!

If they're four months old, I think you can safely switch to a clumping litter. If you do end up trying the omega paw, definitely get the large size, not the regular as they will quickly outgrow it. And try to get the new version with snap-down clips rather than the old sliding clips.

Hello, is clumping litter harmful to a kitten? I have a 10-week-old baby coming, and I am considering the omega paw rolling box.

Kittens are babies and they tend to eat things they're not supposed to like litter. It's suggested to wait on using clumping litter because it can be dangerous if they ingest it. Older kittens know better so you may want to use something different until they are about 4 or 5 months old and then transition them.

I have a litter robot as well! LOVE LOVE LOVE IT!

I have the Litter-Robot Open Air 3 as well. Absolutely love it. I use Everclean unscented cat litter.

I ordered my litter robot open air connect on Friday. Anxiously awaiting its arrival. We’re using arm & hammer slide litter right now and like it. My Eleanor leaps out of the box and some litter comes with, so I vacuum twice a day.

I purchased the ramp for the litter robot in hopes that she will use the stairs and catch some litter.

I also purchased a ruggable rug to use as a mat.

This is my inspiration picture. I plan on ordering the cupboard, but not placing plants all around. I’ll probably use the top of the cupboard for cat storage. Or a nice cat bed.
