I think this is about the third day she has some weird thing going on with her eye. The skin around it seems irritated and sometimes she kinda half closes it. Could it have gotten irritated if she accidentally got a slight scratch while playfighting? I have a vet appointment for her eating issues already next thursday so i will bring this issue up if it persists - but anyone got a clue what it could be? I saw a sliiight white discharge today, but i dont know if it was normal eye gunk.

What a pretty cat! What’s her name?

Do you mean the small pink area at the corner of her left eye (the one on our right)? It could be she got scratched there while playing and is squinting because of that. Good idea to mention it to the vet at her upcoming visit.

Please let us know what happens.

Definitely tell the vet about it Thursday. If the gunk is dark brown and on her tear duct, it is normal, but anything else should be mentioned then. I doubti t was just a scratch from playing, which would show as a red line.

The area around her left eye looks quite red and inflamed (it is quite subtle in the photos, those having trouble seeing it look at the top photo and see the difference between how much each eye is open and the slight redness and puffiness to the skin above and around the left eye).

I'd definitely get her to the vet soonish, you don't want to mess about with a possible eye infection.

Again a tiny amount of whiteish/yellowish gunk today. Her eye doesnt look worse but not better either. The puffy area above her eye persists. It is quite a long time left until the vet appointment.. is there anything else i can do in the meantime to maybe clean the area to stop any chance of it getting worse? Saline solution maybe?

One of mine seems to be sensitive to something in the air. Could that be a possibility? Especially in the spring, Mocha had runny eyes and squinted a lot. The rims of her eyes were slightly more pink than usual, and she rubbed at them, too. I closed up the house and turned on the air purifiers and it helped quite a bit.

I took a soft wet cloth and gently wiped her eyes. Someone told me I could use people eye drops to soothe her eyes, something like Systane. I didn’t because it got better, but I would have called the vet first before using it.

She still gets the occasional runny eye, but the main difference from your situation is that Mocha’s discharge is clear. Can you call the vet’s office and see if they think it can wait until your Thursday appointment? They could also suggest the best kind of drops to use.
