Its been over a year now and I have to thank everyone for your help. I never thought in a million years that I would be able to TNR 16 cats and kittens and stop the breeding cycle in my immediate neighborhood. We have 4 feral cats left that we feed and care for that livein our yard. They have toys and beds and we feed them 2xday. The 2 that were kittens let us pet them and the other two mommas rub on my legs but are still skittish. They seem happy and much healthier. My husband is fully on board in caring for them and worries when one doesn’t show for a meal. He did a 360 for sure.
We have a new visitor coming around for meals so we are putting the trap out for him and will do TNR with him as well.
Your site and support saved these cats lives and we will beforver greatful.

N NJC - There's no doubt that @Anne will be immensely pleased to hear that you're so grateful to the TCS membership and the site, but the truth is that these precious little Lives were spared and improved owed to your hard work and perseverance.

Bravo - you've changed the world for the better!

Yeah N NJC !!!!!! It's so nice to hear the stories like this - - - sometimes I know I get so emotionally lost in trying to help (I hope) and listening in the moment that I know I often lose track (more than I'd like) as far as hearing the result of the poster's hard physical and mental work down the road. (Plus there's always another person 5 minutes later that also desperately needs advice and/or a shoulder). So to hear that this group helped you make SUCH an amazing difference in you and the kitties (and the unborn kittens) lives.....it's wonderful to hear!!!!!!!!

Our situation was so similar that (no joke) I actually read your note twice, wondering if I'd written it in the middle of the night in an ambien haze. ;) I too have used the vast resources of this site to finally get (mostly...but that's another story/thread ;)) a neighborhood colony under control through TNR. And what made your story SO similar was that we too have 4 that now call our yard and garage home!!!!!!! I'm sure helped out by the heated shelters, toys, daily play sessions, hard food all day and twice daily canned (in feeding sessions that now include -- - and you too can get there!!!! -- daily brushings for all four to pull out that never-ending winter undercoat and remove burrs EVEN on their tummies!!! We've also been able to get a few babies socialized so well that they now have loving indoor homes! I've worked for, volunteered for, and fostered for shelters for years - - but I'm sure you feel it - - - there's an extra bit of "spark" knowing you're saving these colony guys from very hard, very short lives. And knowing you're the specific reason there aren't an exploding number of kittens in your neighborhood - - - some surviving, some not - - -but even one being too many. So ENORMOUS CONGRATS for YOU!!!!!!!!!! 1CatOverTheLine 1CatOverTheLine couldn't have said it better - -you've changed the world....certainly your corner of it!

And thought you'd appreciate this. Every now and then....one of them is so thankful, and bonds so much, this is the welcome you get from a weekend away. This is Sookie - - part of the gang of 4 ferals that, like you, calls our space home (previous ferals is more accurate). And this is after we came home from 3 days away. I couldn't brush her tummy enough.....and she finally just fell asleep nestled on my foot. Crossing my fingers we're close to convincing hubby she needs to come in. :heartshape:

(and 1CatOverTheLine 1CatOverTheLine - - you're right - - @Anne SHOULD be immensely pleased. My mind spins when I think how many lives - - cat AND human! - - her work through this site has made better AND saved....I so hope she truly feels it down to her toes! GO ANNE!!!!!)

Good work ! :yess:

I managed to trap my last (of three) outdoor kitty this morning. It took 2 weeks to get this one guy, but he needed help. Between the heat and the fleas he was suffering. Tomorrow he's going to feel better than he's felt in a long time. He's probably still a little foggy headed now.

kittypa kittypa - You got him? That's wonderful news! Congratulations.

Thanks N NJC - - -Sookie's got my heart, that's for sure! (this morning she missed breakfast - - - which, if you saw her girth - you'd get the concern! Hubby had called for all of 4 - - and all but Sookie showed up this am (he'd then called for her again at 8...and 8:30....9....and 9:30....and 10...and then finally told me at 10:50 am that she hadn't shown up because he hated to see me worry). So at 10:55 am I'm in the yard, in pjs like a dork - - -all I got to out of "Sookie" was "Soo...." and she came tearing out from behind the garage. Needless to say - - it's love. :heartshape::heartshape::heartshape:

And WOOOHOO kittypa kittypa !!!

I can't handle all of this good news! :)
