By the way, I did ask the pediatrician about it. She said to discourage it but the cat hair will pass harmlessly through his system. Just not sure how to discourage it. I take the tail away and give Aedan a cold washcloth or teething toy or something and pick Murphy up for a cuddle so he doesn't associate the baby with anything negative. But 10 minutes later, they're at it again.

Perhaps she is resigned that going potty in the right place does not mean she will get treats every time.
A variable reward schedule is actually better for cementing a behavior (this is why gambling is addictive!). So don't give one every time, or every other time, just kind of mix it around.
she manages to get pee UNDER the pad so it might just as well be a puddle on the floor
If she doesn't like the puppy pad in the litterbox, they sell pad holders for small dogs, could give that a try: All-Absorb Silicone Training Pad Holder

That figures. This is my first weekday off from school since starting in May, my first chance to sleep in. Just woke up from a dream about class

FYI, I just received a message from Margret.
She is having computer issues, so she will not be able to link to TheCatSite for a while.

Hoping this glitch will have a quick fix, as she is a valuable member.

She wanted me to let you guys know why she will appear to be MIA....

I'm glad you are feeling better. IV fluids suck and you had to be pretty badly dehydrated for them to do that.

Oh, dehydration is a LADY DOG! Glad you're better!

Any suggestions for convincing Murphy to stop letting Aedan use him as a chew toy?
Not the faintest idea. I have, however, picked cat hair out of a baby's teeth with a pair of tweezers. This is not my idea of fun, but they were really stuck in there. I just...let them have at it. The cat would have walked off if she had been disturbed by it, and they both survived the experience very nicely.

My grandma came over so I could try to write a paper. I got most of it done but baby has been boycotting his nap so he's been fussy and even grandma couldn't placate him for long. It's not due until Sunday night but I also have that PowerPoint due Sunday and tomorrow my friend invited us to the lake for her family reunion. We hung out so much as kids, her family was my family and my family was hers. They're renting a pontoon boat plus the lake has free swimming and what is a family reunion without food? Luckily John is off work because I have a personal rule about water. Kids (who can't swim - and swim well) aren't allowed near water unless there is one adult per child. If I'm holding Aedan in the water and Aislyn slips, how am I supposed to help her without letting go of him? Sure, it might not be likely - especially since Aislyn is so careful about not going too deep - and she'll have floaties on and Aedan has a little boat, but still. Maybe I'm just crazily overprotective but I don't care.

Not really but what happens if you have three children or even more? Might make you feel better if you bought life jackets or rented them for the day and have each child strapped in one. They are better than floaties for sure.

There will be life jackets for the boat. The floaties are just for the swimming area.
Aislyn and Aedan are my responsibility. My friend's family is but responsible, too. There won't be any unsupervised it's with our group. But I'm not gonna expect other people to take responsibility for my kids.
