One of my ferals has recently developed some pinkish colouring or dark spots on his nose bridge, and I'm a bit concerned it could be an allergic reaction to something or sun damage. Can't quite get close enough to get a proper photo but hopefully you guys can make out what it is in the red circles. There's also one around his eye highlighting how red the part where his eyelashes are - like someone who's really sleepy. Any idea on what it could be?

The picture just isn't clear enough, and I know you tried! Ferals are so tricky. I do know that white cats can certainly sunburn, and since the affected areas are in the white sections, that could be the issue. Best I can tell you is, keep an eye on this as best you can, and if it spreads, you may be looking at ringworm or mange, both common in ferals. If that's the case, you'll need to consider trapping for a vet trip.

Aha, thought the image would be a bit difficult! Mange sounds quite serious, hopefully it's not that. What would you say it could be if it doesn't spread and just stays on his nose? The other cats all have black noses so I can't tell if they have it too :S I'll try and get a better photo if I can...really hope he doesn't need to be trapped as he was neutered only 2 weeks ago and so might have vietnam flashbacks haha

Well...it COULD be feline acne, which almost ALWAYS presents on the chin, but if he is eating out of plastic, or a dirty dish, and it is deep enough for the bridge of his nose to come into contact with the bowl, I suppose it could be there. Ringworm is a real possibility, though, especially since he is a feral. If it is ringworm, it will spread.

A volunteer came today to trap the other cats for neutering and she noticed his nose too. She said it's very likely that it's a scab/injury from when he was fighting around in the cage or rubbing his nose on the sides. Poor boy haha. However, I will keep an eye on it just in case it gets worse, and I've bought an extra stainless steel bowl for him to prevent any plastic allergies. Thanks for the suggestions though! :)

Ah ha! Somehow it didn't connect with me that he may have been trapped for neutering. I suspect that the volunteer is right. That's pretty common, actually.

My white cat had discoloration happening suddenly on his pink nose. It was near the top edge of the nose and I could scrape some of it off (not all). He also has acne issues. He is fed out of a metal bowl, but continues to have acne (pretty severe). So this all started with the acne, and I noticed his nose starting to brown. I thought it was from sun since I moved to FL and he was getting a lot more sun on his body. I bought a couple products for the acne, and also brushed them on the nose, and both the acne and brown on his nose has gone away. So I'm not sure what all of this is, but it must be some sort of bacterial thing-maybe from his food and not completely cleaning this area after eating. I bought the following products from chewy - both of which have worked really well:ResQ Organics Skin Treatment with Manuka Honey Dog & Cat Healing Balm and Vetericyn Plus Wound & Skin Care Spray for Cats, 3-oz bottle
