It seems almost impossible to find actual good cat food in Canada. Do any of you live in Canada? And know where to shop?

I live in Calgary (originally from Toronto) and have no issues finding good food.

Global Pet Foods only carries high end stuff. Perhaps start there? They are a nationwide chain and I think pretty much everywhere.

Then just do a quick google search and see what local/independent shops you have around. In my experience, even if they didn’t have something, they could order it in.

The one we can't get up here is the Dr Elseys everyone raves about. I would totally try it if we could.

You can buy Dr. Elsey's food online through their website. Idk if they ship to Canada, but it was included on the list of drop-downs during checkout. I think if you ask, they also send samples.

Dr. Elsey's cleanprotein™

Their website is hard to navigate, but click on the product you want, click on "Learn More" and then click "Buy Now". It's silly that it isn't easier.

Im in toronto and there are lots of places to buy high quality cat food.

I shop at pet valu, pet smart and global foods. We were buying weruva from amazon until the price was no longer competitive.

The major stores carrying their own healthy brand and many others are available as well.

By my research (I'm based in Calgary and Saskatoon, though I'm not sure how much that matters) ordering food online is quite pricey here, and I've yet to find a site like Chewy that offers free shipping after a certain amount is spent. Unless there are made in Canada brands that miraculously ship cheaply to surrounding areas, in store seems to be the best bet.

Depending on what brand(s) you're looking for, Petsmart carries a couple "higher quality" brands and is probably the best one as far as price point goes. As others have mentioned, Global Pet Foods and Pet Valu are good bets. I find Pet Planet also has a lot of options at comparable prices to Global Pet Foods (which is present in my hometown but not where I live and attend school). It also might be worth checking out independent pet stores, which in my experience often carry good brands- even some garden centers with pet sections can have surprisingly good access to brands like Weruva and TikiCat.

Hope that helps!

It may help to specify whereabouts you live since Canada is a pretty big country. :)

LOL

Canuk here as well.

I buy Wellness wet atm. Charlie is picky and refuses to change. I've been reviewing options as well as it can be a pricey food... that being said .. it's a good food too. Wellness you can get at Petsmart. Do you live close to one of those. They have a good selection.
