You don’t have a lot of time to wait. Your male kitten will be fertile soon.
We are aware of that. Little Yellow is a handful trying to catch her and get her into a cat box. We are working on it.

George

Has anyone gone for a dip in the pool yet?

Hi Ileen,
yup, both have ended up in the pool for a very SHORT time! hehe. Caused because of their curiosity plus chasing one another around the pool.
We were concerned about that when they were younger. So we left the pool light on every night so they could see the pool water at all times.
But they are now completely aware of the Pool. Including drinking from the pool most days.
Regards,
George

You may need to use a humane trap to catch her for the spay.
Hi "talkingpeanut",
We have a humane trap, both small and larger, if needed. I'll be able to pick up Little Yellow. But it will be a one shot deal getting her INTO the carrier successfully!
Yellow2 is a male. We have not been able to detect MC's gender. He/she is the slow one coming around to allow us to handle he/her yet.
Regards,
George

Hi Alice catlady", (And all our other thread followers)
Thanks so much for your comments from Norway!
I don't know if you have followed the entire thread from the beginning. I'm guessing you have. If not, you may want to start at the beginning. It's been a long going story that I started writing a diary about Little Yellow and her babies beginning in late March. I didn't start posting on The Cat Site until late April.

My wife, Sheila, and I have been lifelong lovers of cats. We have been married for 51 years, and have always had cats in our family. LOTS of them!
In fact, over the years, we have had an average of around 7 to 12 cats in our family at all times. And they have always been indoor cats.

The oldest cat we had lived to be 24 years old. And during her last years I was able to "hydrate her" daily to extend her quality of life for eighteen months after she was diagnosed with kidney failure.
It always hurts when you lose one of your loved kitty's, and have to help them over the Rainbow Bridge. But we are always there for them.

Little Yellow and her babies are only the second time that we have ever experienced raising a mama and her young ones. All others are cats that "adopted" us, by just showing up.

Enjoy the pictures I've posted. They are fresh from dinner feeding about 30 minutes ago.
As you can see, Little Yellow is not a lot bigger than Yellow2 and MC2. Little Yellow is around a year old, my guess. But she is fully grown at this point. And it's amazing how close her babies are to being the same size as she is at this point in time.
Oh, and notice the picture of Yellow2. I've never seen a yellow calico cat with his coat design before??

Enjoy the photos everyone!
Regards,

Hello George! :) I found this thread a few days ago, and I’ve been reading all of it. I was so sad when I got to the part with the kittens being lost, and so happy to see that everything worked out in the end! :) You and your wife are doing amazing work for so many cats. We don’t have many strays where I live, but I have 5 cats myself. And I’ve also had cats for my whole life. That is why this thread is so heart warming. :)

Thank you for the pictures and update, they are beautiful! And the kittens sure is growing! It’s funny, because I have two little kittens, born april 7, and they look a bit like Yellow 2 in your last picture. I’ll include a picture of my two girls to show that their coat is a bit like Yellow 2’s and as an extra Hello from us. :) Yellow 2 is a bit more red/Yellow than my girls, but the pattern seems to be a bit alike. One thing is for sure, they are all beautiful! :)

Hi Alice catlady,
Thanks for your comments Alice!
This is unbelievable! Our babies were born the same day that yours were born. April 7th! What a lovely coincidence!!
Your pictures of your babies are beautiful! Thanks for posting them! God bless your babies!
To Sheila and I, cat's Rule! We are the house keepers for them! And 10 of them keep us quite busy! -- humm-- REAL busy! HeHe!

Over time I'll try to post more pictures of Little Yellow and her babies as they grow.
Regards.
George&Sheila.

Yellow2's pattern is called classic tabby. . .it's somewhat less common than mackerel tabby but not super rare. It's recessive so both parents have to carry the gene. In my experience the classic pattern tends to intensify the colors too---as you can see, his red is a lot more vibrant than his mother's red.

They look great! Keep up the good work!

Thanks Willowy,
Your right there! Much brighter than Little Yellow's coat.
I really appreciate your sharing your knowledge of all things to do with cat's

Hi "Little Yellow" thread followers!
It's been a while since I posted any info on our ongoing story about "little Yellow" and her family of Yellow2 and MC2. Along with our "Little Guy".
Here's an update.

Little yellow is scheduled for neutering in a few days. Little Yellow2 is a male, so he will be next.
Little Yellow2 has "adopted" me at this point and has even let me rub his belly and wrestle with me now that he trusts me. He is getting more trusting daily.
He is SO precious! I've fallen in LOVE with him already!

MC2 is still so spooky that he/she will not allow us to touch her. So we don't have a clue as to his/her gender. It' appears as tho we may have to capture him to allow neutering. That will set things back. But you gotta do what is needed.

I've posted photos of "Little Guy", Little Yellow, MC2 and Yellow2. Little Guy will not be familiar with most followers. Here's the basics: Little Guy is two years old and he is also a stray that needed help a couple of years ago. He was starving and I'm assuming he lost his mother. He just showed up at our doorstep needing help!

Anyway after"adopting" him into our cat family he turned out to "bulk up" just a "bit". Little Guy's name does not fit him any longer, however we don't plan to change his name. To us, he will always be "Little Guy"!

Little Guy sleeps with me most nights. And wakes me up in the morning when it's time for me to get up and feed our 10 member cat family.
God Bless all the cat lovers!

As you can tell from my photos, I'm a total klutz when it comes to posting pix correctly. Sorry!
Enjoy our update!

Regards,
George & Sheila
