Do you know how long these contractions can last?

If she is truly in labor, it can last up to 24 hours before pushing begins.

Cats active pushing phase is shorter than humans so over 30 minutes is alarming.

Give her something containing calcium - yoghurt perhaps.
Have some honey in it or her drinking water.
You can also smear some water with honey on her lips and gum.

Kittens should stay with their mom until at least 10-12 weeks old. Mom can be spayed at 8 weeks after delivery. Ideally, you should have kittens spayed, neutered, vaccinated, and dewormed before they go to their new homes.

Yes and if you keep any, they all need to get spayed and neutered too as they don't care if they are related, they can and will mate with each other. This can start younger then you think.

Depends on Mom.

I've heard of Moms who cry looking for their babies. I've heard of Moms who don't seem to treat them differently from other cats in the household once weaned. I've heard of a Mom who attacked her kittens when reunited a few days after her spay. I've heard of Moms who cuddled and cleaned a kitten who was missing for several days like a human Mom would with a missing child.

Personality has a lot to do with it.

How are the 6 kittens doing now? Are they all getting enough milk?
