Hi guys! I am new to the forum and a married fur parent of four animals and a human mom to a 4 year old. We have one dog, one cat named Willie Nelson(he's Deaf) and we just adopted two kittens that are 8 weeks old. When we adopted Jolene ( 8 week old girl) we realized a few days later her brother needed a home asap or was going to the pound. The girl that had the litter wanted them all gone and he was still not adopted. So we adopted him. Our son named him Batman(a tuxedo) . My only issues so far of having so many fur pets is how do I keep the Willie who is a year old out of the kitten food? Do I just buy all kitten food or keep trying to get him to stay out of their food? I just worry about Willie getting overweight from eating kitten food, yet I like the kittens to be able to eat anytime they want. Willie has his food all the time but chooses to eat their food. Any help would be greatly appreciated.

Hi! Welcome!!
You could look into All Life Stages foods, and try some canned foods now and then as well if you aren't already.
Good for you, this is incredibly generous hearted of you, you are AWESOME!!
I have been doing canned food once a day(split it between the 3) as I heard it helped with hairballs. Also what brands do all stages? That sounds perfect for us I've just never knew that existed!

Oh gosh, i havent had to look for that for a while...so, here's what I did.
With no intention of purchasing I hopped on to chewy.com and in their search field, typed All Life Stages cat food.
Then you can scroll through the pages and see what appeals to you. A couple ingredients to try and avoid would be carrageenan, and menadione also called vitamin K3.

Feeding station. Take a rubbermaid tote, cut a kitten-sized hole in one end of it, place the food at the opposite end of it, put the lid on, pile some old telephone directories or other books on top, expand hole as kittens grow. Ta-da!
:flail:Oh! That's ingenious! I love it!

Seriously, yes, I find it funny but this is a fantastic way to work it. My thought was to confine the kittens to one room until they're older, but this is much better.

Thanks everyone! I went to a specialty pet store today and bought cat food for all stages. The kibbles are small enough for the kittens and Willie loves it as well! Now I don't need to worry about buying two different types and keeping any cat food away from him. In fact after I fed him and the kittens today he ate his and ran toward their bowl, once he realized it was the same food he walked away! Yay!!!
