Hi everyone :wave3:

Are there any TV shows past or present that you just can't stand?
As in you don't like  :hmmm:

I've got a few -
Family guy - I don't find it the slightest bit funny
Dads Army - quite big here in the Uk. But, I just can't stand it
Last of the summer wine - even the theme tune annoys me

Friends. I find the entire cast exceptionally annoying
Game of Thrones. Unbelievably overrated
All of the singing competition shows like American Idol, The Voice, etc. These are really popularity contests and let's face it. They really have not made many "stars"
The View. The way that the hostesses of this show constantly interrupt each other and their guests makes the show unbearable.

I don't like most reality shows, though I am very fond of Survivor for some reason, lol (there was a British adventure/game show called Crystal Maze that I loved when I was a kid, that probably got me hooked on the theme). Especially the reality shows that feature horrible people, like Jersey Shore or Big Brother. I like the first audition episodes of American Idol, but not after that.

I hate 2 Broke Girls. It's so obnoxious, I don't know how anyone can stand it.

I do not love I Love Lucy. The constant undercurrent of domestic abuse makes me anxious.

The people on Friends are not friends. They're horrible to each other.

I don't like any of the live-action kids' shows on the Disney Channel. They act like they're lobotomized.

I really hate any of the "talking head" news shows and most talk shows. They all talk over each other.

I don't like Dr Phil. He's so fake. Dr Oz reminds me of Dr Nick on The Simpsons.

Haha, there are a lot of shows I've never watched so I'm sure there are others I dislike.

Definitely Family Guy. I just don't find it humorous at all.
I'm sure there are a lot of others, but that is the first one that jumped into my head.

It would be easier to come up with shows I do like, LOL!

Basically anything that's rude, disrespectful, dumb, or depicts adults as incompetent.

The big one for me is Dr. Phil. Once in a great while I force myself to watch it if it's about something true crime related. Within minutes I'm like GAAAAAAA!!!!!!!!!!.........Why did I do this? lol

Anything with an overly fake, overly active laugh track.
(Scene 1)
(Dad walks in the front door)
*laugh track for 20 seconds*
(Mom walks into the room, drying her hand on a dish towel)
*laugh track for 20 seconds*
Dad: "Hi, how was your day?"
*laugh track for 7 seconds*
Mom: "It was terrible! I burnt breakfast, locked my keys in the car and when I got home I realized I forgot to buy ketchup at the store!
*laugh track for 45 seconds with scattered applause*
(Child walks in the door and angrily slams it)
*audience titters with giggles*
Child: "I can't find a date for the dance! This is the worst day of my life!
*laugh track for 50 years with screaming, yelling, hooting and applause*

Those are SO annoying, and I feel embarrassed for the entire cast.

I haven't had cable tv in years so there are probably more. I'm not sure how I would like the Big Bang Theory. I know it's really popular but I'm very skeptical. I know I won't like any of the gory violent shows.

Exactly. You can have every last one of the "series" shows, except for My Mother The Car.

It would take too long to compile a list, but any of those Jerry Springer-type shows would have to be at the top of the list. Ugh. That garbage makes me feel like there is no hope for humanity. :(
I feel the same about those types of shows.

I don't really watch much tv anymore. The news is depressing and the shows aren't to my liking. Netflix for me, at least then I can pick exactly what I feel like watching.

I admit, I used to LOVE the Simpsons when it first came out but after the mid 90's the entire series went to pot.
Some of the earlier episodes were really very brilliant but I tried to watch an episode 8 years ago or so and couldn't make it 10 minutes in. It just felt forced. =/
I love Futurama and I was sad to see it go but was happy to see it given a somewhat dignified ending that left the audience on a good note, vs. this weird, dying end.

Forgot about South Park. That's defiantly on top of the list.

It used to be the funniest show on tv, when it had Charlie Sheen.
The episode with the washing machine had me on the floor.
South park was funny when I was young. Now, it's beyond annoying and stupid and (though I don't throw this term around a lot) offensive. Yeah, I figure the creators were going for offensive (wasn't All in the Family kind of offensive and groundbreaking in the 70's, etc.) but IMO you can only go so far, and I think series today are trying to re-create that and it just....is not going to happen, at least to this old fart.

I think pushing the boundaries is acceptable for a TV show as long as it's funny or meaningful. If they're just being offensive to be offensive, that's obnoxious.

I thought Family Guy and Two and a Half Men were funny in the beginning, but Family Guy isn't anymore (or maybe I'm old, lol) and Two and a Half Men was simply awful after the first few seasons. The Simpsons is just sort of bland like every sitcom now.

I like The Golden Girls but wow! I was recently watching reruns and I didn't remember how offensive/risqué it was. I can't believe they got away with that back then. Just because the ladies were older?

I saw a meme about Family guy that I thought was really good. Apologies for language tho. I didn't make this =/

I'm no genius but I kind of miss the family Guy that depicted today's "normal" family life vs. some weird agenda. Peter was a jackass in earlier eps, but he was a good guy that loved his family. He later on became this hateful person, and really, REALLY stupid. Brian used to be a smart guy and (politics aside) become somewhat unlikable. Meg used to be the worlds "normal" teenage kid with all these struggles and just became (as the meme suggests) a punching bag and, well...and abused kid.
JMO.
I still laugh at "Da Boom" episode.
*world explodes*
Peter: "Woah!!!.....did anyone else feel that??"

Also, Golden Girls was in a different time and also because Betty White, that's why =D

Joking of course. But SNL used to be WAY more risque and hilarious than it is now and no one screamed about it. It was just silly, slap stick crass but easy to digest humor. I wonder if we've just plain become a bit too sensitive to stuff. IDK.

My wife hates Mash and everything about it. The intro music is like nails down a chalk board to her. Me, I guess because I just change the channel there isn't much I dislike. Lots I don't give a chance;)
