What is something that your kitties do that make you really happy?




A special, particular thing that always makes you laugh, smile or even just simply put you at ease. For example....sleeping in a funny or cute way, head booping your forehead, eating all of the food that you hand prepared, purring on your lap while working or watching TV, acting like a contortionist while climbing up the curtains, playing in boxes etc

Try to refrain from saying "everything they do makes me happy!" which is an understandable answer! But do try narrow it down to a couple of top options

For me, it is either when they wrestle/chase each other on the living room floor in front of me. They act SO goofy, which is hard to describe, but it makes me laugh every time.

I also love it when Meadow has her silly playful moments with herself, or lays on her back to show off her new plumpy belly where she looks so happy and relaxed. She used to be a very sick, thin little stray when I randomly picked her up from the road - totally worth it! It is great seeing her with so much joy and peace.


Honorable mention....when they are all sleeping with me on the bed at night.

They purr and give me head butts. Makes me feel that I am accepted and worthy of cat presence.

It's very hard to narrow down to just a few especially when you have 8 cats but...

When I bend down to pet Keith and he stands up on his back feet to meet me halfway.
When Jasmine rolls over for belly rubs and gives me the most gentle of love bites.
When Sam pats my leg for attention.
The way Buddy trots through the house with his tail so high it leans forward, almost touching his head.
The way Spike will wrap her paw around your wrist and pull it back toward her because she doesn't want the petting to stop.
There's probably a hundred other things but those five make my heart melt.

I love (even though he wakes me up) when Remy wants to sleep under the covers with me. I love when Maisie chirps when she sees Remy. I also love when Maisie sits on me.

Noodles follows me to the bathroom and either attacks the draw strings of my pants or sits inside them. Or both. She's so funny. She can be so grumpy; but then she does that. I'm also highly amused when she runs her laps after leaving the litter box. 13 years old and I still laugh.

Mooch sitting in my lap on the couch is probably my other. Lately it's just too hot to have 15lb of fluff on me. But she climbs up, meeps and kneeds while purring.

I panicked when I saw this posted. Like did I miss a whole day!?!?!

When my cat helps wake me up in the morning, she's taken to trying to grab my hand when I go to pull the blanket back over me. Haha

Already she gets like within an inch of my face to see if my eyes are open.

She also knows that I usually have to hit the bathroom first thing, so if I don't get up right away, she will kitty punch me in the kidneys when she walks on my back.

Mika has this look. I don't know how to describe it. She just gives me this look and my heart swells. It makes me giggle. I love her so much.

Also my close second favorite is her reacting so excitably for food. She was so sick and ignored food for so long that now when she head bumps my legs, meows for it and jumps on the counters it makes me so happy. I'm sure that will stop sometime though.

Mingo climbs into my arms while I'm on the computer to lay his head on my arm, and then he starts petting me, rubbing his head up and down my arm. I just love it - holding that warm, soft kitty who obviously loves me too.

Lily one time only actually hugged me. I wish she would do it more. I had been stroking her, and she grabbed my hand, pulled it close to herself, and squeezed. When she wants to lie in my lap, she hops up, and comes up right to my face and gives me slow blinks.

Mingo will often check my face in the morning when I start to wake. I can feel his whiskers - just his whiskers - brushing gently all over my face.

Leonid likes to sit on my chest and head butt me when I am lying down and reading - or trying to read! I don't get much reading done, but I love it! Sometimes he will lie down on my chest. He ends up on my side, upside down with my arm around him, purring away.

If Seal is lying on the back of the chair and he sees me lean down, he will raise his head and press it against my lips for a kiss. Sensual kitty!

Diamond is an affectionate kitty, but what tickles me the most about him is how he acts when I groom him! He struts back and forth, rubs against everything in sight, me included, rolls around and makes chirping sounds. It makes it a challenge to groom him, but it's so cute that I accept it as part of the grooming and I have fun with it!

Mollipop cuddles with me in bed every night. She can be out on the couch in the living room, but if I say, "Molli! Bed!" she hops down and zooms back to the bedroom. She meets me on the bed, waits for me to get into bed and settle down with my iPad to read and the she comes in around my left arm and curls right up inside my arm. And that's where she is for a few hours. I can't tell you how many times Rick has come back to bed, only to find Molli and me wrapped around each other and sound asleep.

Molli will also draw close to my lips for a kiss.

After my treadmill walk in the basement, I open the basement door and Mollipop is sitting there. She loves to tour the basement. So I'll say, "Hi, hi, hi!" and she chirps back at me. I pick her up and we'll walk around the basement for a couple minutes; I give her time to do some sniffing at various things. Then we go upstairs together. She makes me smile when I open the door and there she is.

Muffin likes to visit with me when I'm in the shower. She'll come into the bathroom and sit. And we have conversations; she'll meow or chirp, and I say, "Oh really? You don't say?!" She chirps and I respond, "I didn't know that!" A meow, followed by me, "Now, that's interesting!" And that's how my shower goes in the morning. She'll sit there "talking" to me until I'm dry and getting dressed. Then she says, "My work here is done! Good-bye!" and she leaves the bathroom. Every single morning.

i love when our Dude snuggles with me in bed, either at night or to help me wake up in the morning! he's just so sweet and loving!

i love DeeDee's snuggling as well as the special thing we do -- she'll stand on the kitchen counter, i pat my chest, she'll place her two from paws on my chest, and i reach under her and help her up onto my chest and shoulder! this always makes me really happy!

and i love that our Punky has learned to enjoy being held, in certain ways, and now allows me to give her kisses!

Whenever I pass one of them, they always look up at me and meow. Or when I call them, they come running, no matter where they are, to cuddle with me.

I love it when both Toffee and Fudge roll over for tummy tickles. They stretch their little paws out and Fudge gives the loudest purrs.

I love it when Fudge wants to be cuddled like a baby in my arms. He always has such a happy expression on his face when he's being cuddled.

When I'm stroking the boys, they'll often lean their head sideways onto my hand and purr.

Fudge often puts his paw out to me when I go to stroke him, like he's holding my hand!

Toffee is like a guard dog in many respects. He'll wait for me when I'm doing something and lead the way in front.

I adore all these endearing ways our kitties show us how they love us. This is why we have cats.

Whenever we say Awwww, Carleton turns over on his back with his paws curled under which, of course, means more petting and attention.

There are so many things that my kitties do that make me happy; they truly are the joy in my life!
One thing with C'est Moi is the way that she will try and comfort me when I am sad, or when I've been crying. C'est Moi has been with me the longest; she and I have shared a lot of grief together over the past several years.

One thing with Olivie is how she is so very loyal. She always wants to be around me, and she gives me this look that is just pure love. Olivie and I have a very strong bond, she is my special little baby. Before my beloved Mon Amie passed away in 2015, I think she somehow passed some of her magic on to little Olivie.

One thing with Hotaru is her smile; she just always seem to have that cute little smile on her face. When I look at her and see that smile, it makes me smile.

Speedy is a quiet cat, but I love when we can have a conversation.

I will ask, "Are you a good girl?"
She will answer "Meow"
"Are you my good girl?"
"Meow."
And on and on and so on for as long as I can keep her answering!

I find it amazing that a cat can react to a question with vocalization. Sometimes, her answers even seem to be in the tone of a question, with her meow going up at the end.

Honestly, just being alive. Between Froggy's medical problems and Maisie's chronic issues, I can't take that for granted. It makes me so happy to wake up and see them all still there, happy and doing well.

It's different for each of our kitties. Snickers isn't much of a purr-er so I love it when he purrs at me. Laelia is so skittish I'm happy when she lays down next to me, or (gasp) climbs onto my lap. Cinder hates being held so it's special if I can hold her for a minute without her running away. Toothless is my baby - I love it when he jumps up on the bed and kneads/licks the blanket. He only kneads/licks it where I am - not if the bed is empty or where the blanket is on DH. <3
