My BF and I have two cats and one of them, Peggie, howls when she is in another room from us and wants to know we are there. No worries during our waking hours but she has been doing this more frequently while we are asleep. Once we wake up and call her name she runs in the room and is okay. Any advice on how to get her to feel okay during the night so we can get a full night's sleep?

I feel for you. One of mine does that on occasion and practically sings us a song in the middle of the night. We call her, she comes, we snooze off and she starts all over again. I have not found any miracle cure for it, but I try to make sure she get enough food and loving before we go to bed so when it's time to sleep she is also ready for a snooze.

I don't know if this would help, but what if you try a calming diffuser? Feliway, thunderease and sentry have them, and there are probably others...there are calming treats also, one that comes to mind is Calm-o-mile

JC will do this sometimes at night. If I get up and go to her she will quiet down. She was doing it frequently and I thought because of her age maybe she was getting senile or her vision was not as good and the darkness made it harder for her to get around. Once I put a nightlight near her bed she stopped howling as much at night. I had tried Feliway but it didn't seem to change anything with her.
