You could try ordering from rawfeedingmiami. I did that last year when I was on the verge of running out my my ht order just before I could get ground shipping rates with HT again.I do not think my cats liked that.I am trying to think of anyone else, but, I can't think of another supplier. I do hope HT does not raise prices again anytime soon.

Maureen, you're saying your cats didn't like the rabbit from Raw Feeding Miami? If so, my cats probably wouldn't like it either. Price increases or no I guess I'll be sticking with Hare Today.

Interestingly, the rabbit organs have stayed the same price. After the steep price increase on the chicken organ grind, I bought those on my last order, and I (and my cats) have been well pleased with them.

Per Dr. Pierson's website:

  • 1 tsp Morton Lite (or Windsor Half and Half for Canadian residents) salt with iodine when using chicken but use 1/2 tsp when using rabbit + chicken (contains potassium and sodium – make sure that it contains iodine – see below for further explanation.)
This is a very good reason to make your own supplements rather than using Alnutrin.
I'm assuming this is usually for grinds? Our cats get half ground, half chunks and so far so good with what we're doing =)
I'm still thinking about ordering from Hare Today for things we can't readily get.

I like hare-today but (and this is me being super picky) I hate the packaging that she uses! When I dethaw I have to take up at entire fruit/veggie crisper drawer in my fridge because they leak everywhere. Sigh...to be honest, when I ordered from wefeedraw (I promise I'm not a rep for them...lol) and saw that they used the plastic deli bags, I almost cried- they take up less space in the deep freezer (I can stack them side by side, upright) and don't leak whatsoever.

I hear you on the Hare Today chubs...I have spent way too much of my life wrestling with that packaging. I am definitely tempted to try wefeedraw for that issue alone!

I lined my cat-storage freezer drawer with cardboard boxes and buy only 1 lb chubs. They pack pretty efficiently into the boxes. To defrost, put them into a Pyrex loaf pan (perfect size) filled with cold water in the sink. After about 10-15 minutes, you can cut off the packaging and the mostly frozen chub will slide out cleanly. Put the loaf pan in the fridge to let it finish defrosting.

A few members have posted about we feed raw, can you order without a monthly sub?
They have some nice stuff! I think the cats would like more rabbit..

I don't have a subscription. They offer a nifty premeasured service but I can definitely not afford it, lol. I order from them like I would HT- whenever I need it.

Their prices on grinds beats HT for the most part since they are all PMR 80/10/10, so you don't need to dilute bone content.

That's great!! I liked the site but was put off by the premeasured subscription thing, I thought it was mandatory.
Thanks, EmersonandEvie EmersonandEvie ! We will probably stock the freezers in another 2 months and the cats thank you for the rabbit load =D

Anyone know an online source that has mouse heart? I realize that is something that haretoday doesn't even carry.

The only places I know of are those that include the entire mouse, no just heart but you can use whole feeder mice.

Yeah that seems like my only choice. I guess it is a bit impractical and fairly wasteful to just be selling a heart of a creature that small.

Can they have chicken or duck hearts? My cats love these.
