Mini was diagnosed with feline leukemia when she was a year old.( I rescued her- my mom found her along the road she had it when I got her) I gave her the best life possible. I took very good care of her and loved her so very much. She loved to snuggle and be petted. She was small, never growing much more than 6 month old kitten size. She started acting sick and not eating last night. I brought her into the vet today. Her blood cell count was through the roof and her lymph nodes were swollen. When she was diagnosed I decided that I would keep her as healthy as I could but I would not try to prolong her life for my benefit. Never an easy choice, but I wanted her to have a good life. Not a sick life. So today I held my little girl as the vet euthanized her. She was only four years old but she lived a good happy life and she isn’t suffering. Still I hurt so much inside.

I am so sorry that this happened to you and your little cutie pie, but you did a WONDERFUL thing by taking care of her and giving her a chance and a great life. Someone once said to me about cats "it's better to have a good short life than a long bad one" and that fits here, but it doesn't make it any easier to deal with, your heart is broken and will be for quite awhile, but with time it will slowly heal. So sorry for your loss, she is fine now it is you who are hurting.

I hope your heart heals a bit each day, God Bless.....:alright: :grouphug: :rbheart:

You will surely be blessed for giving this beautiful little girl your love and a wonderful life. Even knowing she would be taken from you, you persevered and showed her what unselfish loves is. For her to live four years with such a diagnosis shows what good care you gave her and how love can give strength to the one you love.
You DID give her a good life, for that you should be proud, you were there for her every step of the way and somehow found the strength to keep her from a slow, unending future full of pain and fear. Now you face a future full of tears and memories, but try not to dwell on the end, concentrate on the good memories of happier times and what that little girl brought into your life. She showed you what love is. She left you a legacy of love and would like nothing more than for you to pass it on. I feel she was brought into your life for a reason, it was meant to be. Her tiny body held a huge heart and her spirit is strong, made that way by you. Death cannot break the bond that is between you both. It is spiritual, so eternal. Her new path will always follow yours until it once more crosses at the end of your own life. She loves you so much and will always send you the strength you need to go on. The emptiness you feel will be filled with her love and the memories that are so precious to you now. But it takes time. One day you will be able to feel joy once more when you think of her, because that is what she wants for the one she loves so much. She wants you to go forward and live your life in joy, as you would want for her. That is what love is.
For now, please accept my sincere condolences and my prayers for you both. I know how much this hurts. It won't be easy, but you will get through this, with help from others who understand and the undying love of that precious little girl. Take care........RIP beautiful little Mini. You were so very loved on this earth, and you will be so very missed. Let your light shine down on the one who loves you so much, to bring comfort and to dry the tears that fall for your leaving. Let them know you are near and always will be, that the piece of a loving heart you took with you will be forever treasured. Good night, sleep tight, little one, may God hold and keep you until you meet again!

Sweet Little Mini is very similar to my sweet Lola, before she had the radiation therapy that had her face change color from black to greyish.
I'm so sorry for your loss, but you said she had a very good life, and of this she'll be forever grateful.
She will look over you as you did with her, and a day will come when you will be able to hold her again, never to part.
RIP beautiful angel!

RIP, little Mini.

One said the life should not be counted by years, but by the number of smiles. An wonderful life together and a painless End are valuable gifts not to many - humans or animals- enjoy.
Respectful tears!

My husband found rose bushes for sale on his way to work. So he bought one for me as a surprise. We planted it over Mini’s grave in the garden. It hasn’t started to bloom yet, but it now has several leaves. It’s the perfect grave marker because that’s what Mini was, an unexpected rose that came into our lives by surprise and gave us nothing but beauty and joy. When it starts to bloom I will take some pictures to share here.
