AIice AIice could you tell me the city or district that you live in? Send me a PM if you don't want to post it on the forum. There do seem to be a lot of vet clinics in your country, some with good reviews and pictures of the inside and outside of their clinics.

A phone call or e-mail before you go would save you a wasted journey.

Please don't keep trying to give the kitten to other people. When he is a bit older and healthier you can try to re-home him, but handing him over to random strangers now is very irresponsible.

Carrying him around and putting him inside strange doors and houses is going to really scare him and stress him out. Think about how you would feel if someone did that to you.

How is his eye? Can you post a picture?

If he just has gunky eyes and nasal discharge you can clean his face with chamomile tea. Put a chamomile tea-bag in a cup of boiled water, leave it to cool overnight and then use the cold tea and some cotton wool to clean his face and eyes. He really needs to see a vet if he has a bad eye infection, but this will give him some relief until you can find one.

Read the bolded words for the important part.

I've found a mother with kittens nearby. This is the first time in my life, I'm almost certain it is her mother. I left kitten and she walked slowly to her mother but then stopped and was scared, almost as if a fight was going to happen. -- Tried getting closer to the mother but then hissed at me then I went back home to get them cat food as a way of saying "I'm not an enemy". When I returned the mother disappeared but two kittens stayed; didn't follow the mother. I tried getting my kitten to one of the kittens but they started screaming and was about to fight, which made me hesitate to do the same with the mother. An adult can easily one-shot this little one. What do I do?

Alice, please do not try to put this kitten in a strange environment, even if it seems like the right thing to do. You likely scared the mama, and she probably won't want anything to do with your kitten.

My suggestion, again, is to keep this little one and get us pictures of that eye so we can best identify the issue. I'm not a kitten person, my cats are fully grown, so I can't speak for feeding your kitten - how have you been keeping her fed?

Just keep her separated from other cats, make sure not to take her outdoors in a strange situation, and give us some more info about that eye - that is what worries me the most.

I made the kitten meet the mother for the last time, because there are no other cats around; just the mother and its kittens. I've never seen this happening before, why now?

Kitty Beholder Kitty Beholder Even if I showed the eye, I'm not expecting any solutions other than "go to a vet". It will heal on its own.
(it was a lot worse, no pic available)

Were the other kittens younger than this one? She's almost grown; if the mother had a new litter she may have rejected a kitten she feels is old enough to fend for herself.

The eye looks red and irritated, but I don't see any pus. Had you just cleaned it when you took the picture?

She is a cutie! Honestly, you have no way of knowing if that cat was this kitten's mother. Like I said, it's best to keep the kitten away from other animals until it is healthy.

I would definitely look up some of the posts on this site about eye irritation. It is a common issue, based on what I've read. It may be an issue you can fix on your own, it may be one you need to think about seeing a vet about. I honestly don't know, though it is a good sign if it is getting better - it always pays to be proactive!

I would keep the little guy, if only until you get him in to some sort of no-kill shelter or rescue. Keep him inside, play with him if he shows energy, and maybe even work on introducing him to the other cat. Your cat's first reaction should not be to kill the kitten.

What are you feeding this little guy?

The eye needs antibiotic drops or ointment. Can you get some?
