As of a few weeks ago, I still had about 6 flavours she would eat (pate, gravy, grilled) and as of 2 days ago she won’t touch any. I can’t find any of the earlier best before dates (went to 4 stores this morning).

Friskies- no thank you ma’am she said.

She is hungry. She is yowling and keeps going to her feeding station (currently have 3 plates down) and turns her nose at everything.

She has eaten BFF before so I’m going to get that today but I’m concerned about all the fish.

For those of you that fed FF and had to switch- which were some brands your cats accepted? I’m in Canada for we have about 1/4 of the selection you guys do.

I have already tried all the specialty brands at the boutique pet store and the cans at Petsmart. She doesn’t seem to like anything with veggies.

Uggggg, why does Purina have to fix things that aren’t broken?!

If you feed kibble, stop and she will eat canned. Mine likes Merrick rabbit pate and whole earth farms (Merrick) beef or duck pate. She also likes Soulistic(Weruva) chicken dinner in gelee. Mine will also eat some friskies flavors like supreme supper and country dinner but I feed friskies to the ferals because it is less expensive .I don’t feed kibble, so the cats are hungry at meal time. No food is left out, they finish their portions until next meal.

No kibble (she has no teeth lol!).

I’ve tried the Merrick in the past. It ended up being flushed.

Hi, I truly feel your pain!
Here's what I did in the exact same situation, my furry fellow will not eat anything else, and then stopped eating nearly all FF.
He does like FFs primavera variety. Also see if you can get Purina Muse, and also Purina One True Instinct.
Merrick Backcountry pouch has more gravy, tiki cat aloha friends pouches, natural balance, try Nutro. Try Lifesabundance . com, try Caru, try Tender and True

Also, there are toppers you could try, to try and entice your cat to eat or even see if something here at least helps get some nutrition into her;
  • Chicken or beef flavored baby food such as Gerber Stage 2 - make sure there is no garlic or onions in the ingredients
  • Tuna and/or the juice, a low mercury brand is called SafeCatch
  • Salmon
  • Sardines (make sure there are no bones)
  • boiled cut up chicken or turkey with no seasonings
  • canned kitten food any brand - it's usually smelly. See if it's eaten on its own, then maybe mix it in or put on top
  • Try mixing in Kitten Milk Replacer - there are recipes on the internet
  • Fish, tuna or BBQ flavored canned wet food (I personally have never seen BBQ flavors, but...)
  • Lickable cat treats or pouch treat gravy poured over the food
  • kitten glop (recipes are on the internet, look for some with goat milk)
  • Bonito flakes
  • fortiflora
  • goat milk, or low/no lactose cow milk
  • whole cooked eggs (the white must always be cooked) or raw egg yolk now and then
  • broth with no salt and no garlic or onion or seasonings of any kind
  • There are also commercial toppers, Applaws is a brand that can work well as a topper, Tiki Cat has a mousse,
you could crumble a favorite treat onto the wet food, Purebites, Orijen, Meowtinis, Meowables - sometimes cats with no teeth will still be able to eat things like this since they don't chew.

Purina Beyond is very good (pate version). Mine love FF, but I have given them Beyond before just to experiment and they liked it. I think it is grain free.

If she has not had a vet visit recently you might want to have one. Just to make sure no health issues going on.

My cats are only eating Tiki cat, and Almo nature complete meals very well right now. They love most Tiki, and almo nature chicken and green beans. and almo nature Salmon and apple. I also worry about a lot of fish, but i have one girl that the salmon and apple is the only wet food she will eat. so she gets a can for breakfast every day. But i also feed Dr. Elseys dry, so she eats that the rest of the day. My other fish guy likes several of the BFF foods. They must eat, so we feed them what they will eat, i know with mine she would starve to death before she ate something she didnt want. She is not real food motivated in the first place.

Best of luck to you finding what she will like!

I do agree with Duckpond. The fact that she won't eat FF or Friskies seems a bit off. Sometimes they are just finicky and go through food phases, but better to rule out anything else.

Thanks everyone. I bought some of the Wervuva Cats in the Kitchen. If she doesn’t eat anything today I’ll take her to see Dr Liz....

Try taking half a can of Fancy Feast, run the water really hot and put a Tablespoon of hot water on it and stir it up. This is working for my cats. So far I've tried it with Fancy Feast Chicken Feast Grilled and Chicken Feast Classics Pate.

It seems like a lot of cats -- including ours -- have been picky lately and I wonder if it's partly because of changes in the weather. Our cats generally eat less when it's warmer so I suspect that may be part of the problem. Interestingly enough, their appetites seem to have picked up a little this week, when it's downright chilly, with night temperatures in the 40s.

The surest things that our cats will eat are Nutro Natural Choice (chunky chicken and minced chicken are popular) or, sorry to say, Fancy Feast Classics, which I added to the canned food rotation specifically because they're a food I know I can feed with no hassles.

Good luck!

Update- I have to agree with other posters this is some kind of spring fever.

Between the catio and her walks (leash and harness) she is only focused on going OUT.

She is still not eating much. I have so far flushed 2 cans of the Weruva, Nutro wouldn’t even get a lick but she did eat a can of ProPlan and Science Diet. I put out a can of FF this am and no interest again but she is currently howling at the window (yes, she was spayed a long time ago!).

She’s still drinking out of the tap and pooping and peeing and snuggling at night so at this point I’m not too worried.

It’s a lot easier for me to flush a 70c can of cat food versus one that is $2 and she’s not enthusiastic about any of them at the moment.

Try the Tablespoon of hot water thing. I don't know why it works. Maybe because it makes extra gravy? Try it with Fancy Feast Grilled, that one worked the best. A Tablespoon of hot water stirred into half a can. :)
