How long ago? It's too short even for a zoom groom? You could find a brush that's a pin brush on one side and a bristle brush on the other, I'm thinking the bristle side might help.

Can you wipe him regularly with a slightly rough/nubby wash cloth?

Also, have you tried a gently transitioned food change?

Sorry, I had to get on my desktop computer to do this....anyway, hopefully this picture helps, Petco has one of these brushes.

ALso, here's a website for food choices that might help
CatFoodDB - Cat Food Reviews to help you find the best cat food for your cat

And here's a list of toppers for when he gets really bored that you could put on top of or mix into his food;
  • boiled unseasoned chicken or turkey,
  • sardines,
  • tuna,
  • tuna juice from the tuna can,
  • canned kitten food,
  • kitten replacement milk powder or liquid as an add-in,
  • bonito flakes,
  • heating the wet food slightly,
  • parmeson or shredded cheddar cheese,
  • fortiflora
  • mackerel
  • crumbled treats

Is he on dry food only diet? If so, try switching to mainly canned and supplementing with dry food "snack size" treats. Also, try adding in some plain canned pumpkin puree to help keep things moving.

Has he had a vet visit? Hair is not the only reason cats throw up, and if he is shaved i would want to rule out other health issues. I would suggest taking him for a vet visit, get a good check up and then go from there. Sending my best wishes for him!

I know he isnt throw up daily
Maybe twice week or 3
I can see some hair in his vomiting,
I spend a lot of money on vet this
Year last time I check it up 2 months ago
And I seriously want to get some break from visits I hope it's nothing :cringe:

I give my girl Royal Canin Hairball formula dry, and it works excellent on her. I give it to her for constipation though.
With your cat if he is shaved I don't see how they could be hairballs but maybe groom more often. It's better than paying a vet bill. I hear you on that.
